Pop stars and musicians are no different. They too, like us, are victims of this ordeal and have spoken up about the same.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Even with all the fame and money in the world, there is much pain and suffering they endure in their own ways. Our beloved artists, whose music we love and admire have opened up about their mental health struggles. Here are some of them who shared with us what they went through and continue to fight &#8211;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Adele<\/span><\/h2>\n[youtube https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vwPDsSPaDsY]\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Although the Grammy award-winning singer was back with her hit comeback album last year, Adele did open up about the time she wasn\u2019t doing so well. She detailed overcoming her mental health battle, especially after giving birth to her son when she first became a mom ten years ago. She\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.self.com\/story\/adele-postpartum-depression-experience\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">said<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0that the demands of constantly caring for a newborn baby and the huge emotional burden of becoming a parent contributed to a decline in her mental health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cGiving, giving, giving, to a baby or a toddler, when they can\u2019t even fucking talk to you, your brain goes a bit mushy. You\u2019re not stimulated very much,\u201d the \u2018Easy On Me\u2019 singer\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.self.com\/story\/adele-postpartum-depression-experience\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">said<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. \u201cIn that, I also got really quite bad postpartum depression, or postnatal as we call it [in the UK].\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><b>You May Also Like: <\/b><\/span><a title=\"IYRE\u2019s Island of Spellbinding Drum &amp; Bass\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketfairy.com\/word\/2022\/05\/12\/iyres-island-of-spellbinding-drum-bass\/\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">IYRE\u2019s Island of Spellbinding Drum &amp; Bass<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Adele is just one of the many who suffered from Postpartum depression (PPD) which is extremely common. Research from the<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/reproductivehealth\/depression\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0Centers for Disease Control and Prevention<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0(CDC) indicates that about 1 in 8 people who give birth in the U.S. experience symptoms of PPD, which usually come on about one to three weeks after giving birth. They can include feelings of numbness or disconnection from the baby, being concerned about harming the baby, or feelings of guilt or self-doubt about your caregiving abilities, according to the<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/reproductivehealth\/vital-signs\/identifying-maternal-depression\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0CDC<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">During an interview with\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Face<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, Adele \u201c<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.self.com\/story\/adele-postpartum-depression-experience\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">elaborated<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0on something she said during her Grammys acceptance speech in 2017: that she \u201clost a lot\u201d of herself in pregnancy and new motherhood, as per\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">SELF<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThere are definitely a few elements of myself that I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll ever get back,\u201d\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.self.com\/story\/adele-postpartum-depression-experience\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">explained<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0Adele. \u201cMore than anything, it\u2019s the freedom of being able to do whatever you want, whenever you want. Going somewhere and not having to prioritize someone else.\u201d Ever since Angelo was born, he has \u201cobviously\u201d been Adele\u2019s \u201cnumber one priority,\u201d\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.self.com\/story\/adele-postpartum-depression-experience\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">continued<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0the singer who gave birth to son Angelo in 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">According to\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Daily Mail<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, Adele\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-10191827\/Adele-details-overcoming-mental-health-battles.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">explained<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0that she suffered from both, psychological and physical problems. These were worsened by the breakdown of her two-year marriage, noting that gluten intolerance also contributed to her depression. She also discussed her battle to get out of bed, during which she simply lay watching\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u2018The Sopranos\u2019<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0despite knowing she \u201cneeded to stay busy\u201d, she told<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Rolling Stone<\/span><\/strong><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0magazine: \u201cAnything that could soothe my anxiety, I threw myself in headfirst. [I traveled] anywhere where there&#8217;s meant to be brilliant energy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">ZAYN<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Zayn first opened up about his anxiety after canceling his Capital Summertime Ball performance. In his self-titled book, the \u2018Pillowtalk\u2019 singer shared that one of his team members offered to write a statement saying that the star was ill. However, he didn&#8217;t want to do that. Zayn put out a statement, sharing the truth about his mental health struggles.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"und\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YmVQ2estd2\">pic.twitter.com\/YmVQ2estd2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 zayn (@zaynmalik) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/zaynmalik\/status\/741728944643182592?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 11, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Ariana Grande<\/span><\/h2>\n[youtube https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=cskIFWszc3c]\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In 2019, the \u2018Positions\u2019 singer took to Instagram to share images of the then-recent brain scans. The singer claimed to suggest that she suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The star had just finished her concert in Manchester on 22 May 2017, when a suicide bomber detonated a homemade explosive device. It <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/uk\/home-news\/manchester-arena-attack-facts-what-happened-timeline-suicide-bombing-ariana-grande-concert-a7751176.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">killed<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> twenty-two people and injured hundreds more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Grande shared a screenshot of a group text she had sent to her friends in which she sent a photo of three brain scans. One of a \u201chealthy brain,\u201d which showed very few highlighted areas. The other photo was of the brain of someone with PTSD. This image had several areas of the brain outlined. Below that text, Ariana then sent an image of her own brain scan. The singer\u2019s post opened up the discussion about the physiological impact PTSD can have on a person. However, as per\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Independent,<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0experts claimed that it was not yet possible to diagnose the disorder with a scan alone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Professor David Nutt, the Edmond J Safra Chair in Neuropsychopharmacology at the Imperial College London,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/life-style\/ariana-grande-ptsd-brain-scan-instagram-manchester-terror-attack-a8866421.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">tells<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Independen<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">t: &#8220;We would need to know what type of these scans are and if they were taken at rest or when reliving the trauma. &#8220;But in general you can&#8217;t as yet diagnose PTSD from a scan.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ArianaGrande?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ArianaGrande<\/a> gets real about PTSD as she shares a brain scan done on her showing terrifying PTSD trauma. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/CJhOV9VB0b\">pic.twitter.com\/CJhOV9VB0b<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Pop Crave (@PopCrave) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PopCrave\/status\/1116713251910443009?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 12, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">PTSD is an\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimh.nih.gov\/health\/topics\/post-traumatic-stress-disorder-ptsd\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">anxiety disorder<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. It can develop in some people after witnessing or being involved in traumatic events. Charles B.
