Ruebik\u2019s&nbsp;path to drum and bass has been a windy one. Originally from South Africa, his first experience of playing to a crowd was as a drummer in a heavy metal band. Despite winning&nbsp;Battle of the Bands&nbsp;and the opportunity to pursue this genre, his love of electronic music began to take over, and there has been no looking back since. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">After winning a competition held by Toocut\u00a0and\u00a0George FM for his track &#8216;Losing Myself,&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/331mn1ZP0uAGUcazag3TNa?si=q1pvoKP7Sjm-xxyHVf3RPw\" title=\"Ruebik\">Ruebik<\/a> caught the attention of record labels across the spectrum.
