Delhi-based musician Shivang Arora has fired out a brand new single, ‘I Killed a Man (in my dream),’ which explores feelings of guilt, regret, and remorse.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Catapulting ahead in seemingly all the right directions from his previous works, including ‘NKNSM<\/a>‘ – a fusion rock tune smudged with Hindustani vocals, soulful jazz number ‘Water Is Blue<\/a>‘ and his sublime Hindi-worded four-track EP ‘Ye Pal<\/a>,’ singer-songwriter Shivang Arora’s newest outing is a gritter\/heavier sound swathed in distorted guitars and thumping drum action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shivang says he took time away “to spend time trying to find my calling in music and craft my sound,” after his last composition, ‘Broken Mirror<\/a>‘ (February 2023). His latest piece is swirled together, drawing influences from alternative rock\/grunge icons Nirvana, Australian rockers Silverchair, Indian rock legends Parikrama, the likes of rock bands Agnee, Parvaaz, aswekeepsearching, Antariksh, and alternative\/indie musician Komorebi<\/a>. Interestingly, Shivang was also on support duties<\/a> for Komorebi during her performance in Delhi earlier this year, as part of her ‘The Fall’ album launch tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listening in, ‘I Killed a Man (in my dream)’ delivers a grim intro before steering in Shivang’s raspy vocals over an alternative rock theme. The gloomy string arrangements continue to form a canvas over which blazing guitar riffs and plucky bass chords ensue. Guitarist Jerry Allen flexes his guitar-playing skills, delivering ferocious guitar solo parts, one of which concludes this grunge ballad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
