Since its inception in 2015, 1985 Music has seen Alix Perez release two notable albums: the first, a collaboration with Eprom under his Shades alias, followed by a deeper, grime-inspired output in which Perez teamed up with Headland for a more experimental approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After what has felt like eons, we finally have a piece of music from the transformative drum &amp; bass producer that sees him return to elaborate rhythms and emotional melodies. &#8216;Entanglements&#8217; features a rich selection of eight meticulously crafted tracks, each one embodying the essence of the trademark Alix Perez liquid drum &amp; bass sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The &#8216;Entanglements&#8217; mini LP begins with the title track featuring a lush and steadily building melodic journey that gradually evolves into a soothing, deep stepper. It&#8217;s almost magical how the atmospheric layers and delicate textures of the intro merge with the subtle basslines and smooth percussion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then comes &#8216;In Your Eyes,&#8217; which takes us back to &#8216;Forsaken&#8217; from Perez&#8217;s debut album, a track whose delicate vocals and laid-back narrative made it one of the defining drum &amp; bass tunes of the past decade. The heightened velocity of his latest release adds fresh and dynamic energy but the emotional core remains untouched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8216;Elastic Soul&#8217; hits right in the feels with its crispy drums, funky vocals and gorgeous trumpet that adds a unique flavor to create a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for kicking off a beachside drum &amp; bass party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Mini LP takes a brief but impactful shift in energy with &#8216;R2R,&#8217; which takes a break-sy turn rhythm while incorporating reggae-inspired elements.
