FUTUR Stage by J\u00e4germeister – FuturFestival, Italy <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Turin’s Parco Dora Park has undergone several transformations over time, from a bustling industrial location for the steel and rubber industries in the 1900s to a haven for concerts, markets, and other events. This 12,000-square-meter space has hosted the Kappa FuturFestival<\/a> on its grounds since 2012, and within it lies the gigantic main stage, the J\u00e4germeister FUTUR Stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the setup isn’t overly flamboyant, it does bear all the trendy audio and visual productions. Less is certainly more, as this J\u00e4germeister FUTUR stage effectively exudes grandeur. Calling back to its industrial heyday, it overlooks a series of 30-meter-high steel pillars, where swarms of ravers gather to relish techno and house music racing across the massive arena. Peggy Gou, Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim, Skrillex, Bonobo, Amelie Lens, and many more have made notable appearances on this podium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Garuda Land Stage – Djakarta Warehouse Project, Indonesia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Undoubtedly an epicenter of electronic music culture in Southeast Asia, the Djakarta Warehouse Project has risen from humble beginnings in a nightclub in 2008 to round up an excess of 90,000 ravers every year. Its main stage, Garuda Land, is set up and crafted in honor of a mythical bird or bird-like beast, Garuda. It is rooted in Buddhist and Hindu mythology and is also referred<\/a> to as the “King of birds” and “chief of feathered creatures” in various other mythical texts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with its exceptional sound quality and lighting production, the Garuda Land stage’s design and construction sweeten year after year, quite literally expanding its wings to provide a jaw-dropping layout. Positioning a performer directly beneath the vigilant gaze of the Garuda not only enhances the cultural tapestry of the festival but also immerses both the artist and festival-goers in a vibrant celebration of heritage and artistry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 150-foot-high brutalist architecture style Moylurg Tower in Lockey Park, Roscommon, supplies the locale for the Sol Stage at the Night and Day Festival in the Republic of Ireland. Once scrutinized<\/a> as a “public architecture gone wrong” or a “big, ugly block of flats,” its illuminated presence at the recent festival presented a more reassuring image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tower served as a beacon for ravers and flawlessly connected a mesmerizing array of visuals created by artist Sergey Khadzhava, with the DJs playing from its booth setup high up inside. Adding to the vintage appeal, artists had to ascend a set of old concrete stairs and pass through tunnels to reach the Sol Stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DJ\/producer Efa O\u2019Neill, who performed<\/a> at the 2025 installment of the festival, said<\/a>, “It was so inspiring to see a public space used for dance music like this in Ireland, and we need a lot more of that.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Echoes of Earth Festival, India<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It would be hard to pin down and highlight a single-stage setup from the sustainability-focused music festival Echos Of Earth, hosted in Bengaluru since 2016 and now in Goa (2024). The green music festival builds its stages, art installations, and other festival structures from recycled, upcycled, and repurposed materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four music stages run on solar power in Bengaluru: the Rhino Beetle Stage, the Tusker Stage, the Serpent Stage, and the Big Tree Stage. The 2024 edition gave us a glimpse of the items involved in their assembly. Chiseled to resemble a rhinoceros beetle, the main Rhino Beetle stage is erected from metal scraps, carpet, cloth, and metal rods. While the Tusker Stage, inspired by the Asian elephant, is tied together from carpet, bamboo, jute, and metal bars. Each scaffold and artwork is designed to remind festival-goers of the value of nature, environmental conservation, and protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tierra De Los Muertos Festival, Mexico<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Stemming from the stunning city of Oaxaca, Mexico, is the Tierra De Los Muertos Festival. It is a colorful celebration of life and death and takes place during the Day of the Dead (D\u00eda de Muertos) festivities, which are usually in the first few days of November. On the main stage overlooking the crowds of “undead ravers” is the skeletal face of “Katrina.” This figurine draws from Aztec beliefs and Catholic traditions and has become a very recognizable symbol of the Day of the Dead festival, as well as Halloween.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katrina or “Catrina” from “La Calavera Catrina” is derived from the drawings<\/a> of Mexican graphic artist Jos\u00e9 Guadalupe Posada around the year 1910. Jos\u00e9’s intention behind the sketch was to subtly mock and denounce the Mexican elite for prioritizing European ideals over their own culture. In the years that followed, muralist Diego Rivera subsequently modified it to look like the image we see today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

POSITIV festival will ferry you back in time within one of history’s most iconic and long-standing monuments – the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Antique d’Orange in Orange, Vaucluse. First constructed<\/a> between A.D. 10 and 25, it has hosted some of the finest artists in music, art, dance, song, and theater through the centuries. A few renovations have taken place through the years; however, it still retains some of its original construction to this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, its facade measures 103 meters long and 37 meters wide and provides a 180-degree view of the arena to a performer. With a spectacular light show and evocative backdrops, this ancient amphitheater also gives artists at POSITIV the feel of playing bass music in a bygone era. David Guetta<\/a>, Paul Kalkbrenner, Timmy Trumpet, Boris Brejcha, and even the mighty Afterlife<\/a> by Tale Of Us have made their presence here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The impending seventh edition courses<\/a> through three nights of electronic music with Amelie Lens, a returning Paul Kalkbrenner, Mind Against, and James Hype, to name a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
