Below are some dance music artists who have supported initiatives and organizations to improve mental health, prevent suicide, and make therapy more accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fatboy Slim<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fatboy Slim supports a DJ workshop by funding a collaborative project between Heads On, a charity by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> that aids people with mental health problems. With the help of Specialist Occupational Therapist Natalie Rowlands, who designed the program, Norman Cook AKA Fatboy Slim has completed thirty DJ workshops in Sussex over the past year. In addition to teaching DJing to the students in the program, the Brownley-born DJ\/producer has also provided guidance in certain situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This program has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/cn8vmklxld7o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">received<\/a> a gold award at the Sussex Partnership Trust Positive Practice Awards. \u201cWatching participants, many of whom have faced significant mental health challenges, discover the joy of mixing music and expressing themselves creatively, has been truly inspiring. Music has played a vital role in my own mental health journey, and it\u2019s a privilege to share that healing power with others,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/djmag.com\/news\/fatboy-slim-funded-dj-workshops-mental-health-programme-continue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shared<\/a> Fatboy Slim as per DJ Mag. \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to perform alongside these talented individuals at the Sound Minds event, celebrating their achievements and the transformative impact of music.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thirteen students got behind the decks at Rockwater Hove at the Sound Minds event in September this year to showcase their skills. Sound Minds even saw a performance from Fatboy Slim! This program includes people with bipolar, personality, eating disorders, and schizophrenia between the ages of 23 &#8211; 58. \u201c&#8221;We&#8217;ve had people that have been suicidal, in A&amp;E every night for weeks and they&#8217;ve come to these workshops and been inspired, they&#8217;ve started DJing and bought their own equipment. DJ workshops don&#8217;t just teach people to mix music, they help them find their rhythm, their confidence, and their voice,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c5y45gpn50yo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shared<\/a> Rowlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Steller<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Steller has partnered with non-profit organization To Write Love On Her Arms, which helps those struggling with their mental health by providing them with mental health toolkits, online peer support groups, and a lot more. \u201cMusic is an escape for many people. When I first started going to shows, I thought, \u2018Wow, this is a place I feel fully accepted. Anything happening in my personal life disappears. Everyone is here for one thing. It\u2019s so loving and the energy is high,\u201d Steller <a href=\"https:\/\/edm.com\/interviews\/steller-interview-mental-health-tour-2025-twloha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> in an interview with EDM.com. \u201cI want to create that with my shows. Having this partnership lets people know we\u2019re there for you. You have support. Anything you need, this community has your back. Music is a place where we\u2019re reminded that it\u2019s okay to find things worth singing about. There are things in life worth screaming about. There are things in life worth dancing about. And there are things in life worth sharing with other people. The reason this tour happens and why these festivals happen is that people show up. For a lot of us, music is the place we run towards to make sense of our lives,\u201d the Director of Outreach at To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA), Chad Moses <a href=\"https:\/\/edm.com\/interviews\/steller-interview-mental-health-tour-2025-twloha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Illenium<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Illenium joined forces with NV Concepts and Wicked Halloween Festival in 2018 for a suicide prevention campaign called Awake. This collaborative effort was started to raise funds for the Suicide Prevention Lifeline. As a part of this campaign, the Illinois-born dance music star asked people to post a 15-second video of themselves sharing their \u201creason for being awake\u201d, what keeps them alive and going and how and why they stay positive on Instagram and tagging Illenium, NV Concepts with the #Awake hashtag.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FILLENIUM%2Fphotos%2Fp.1878991675555218%2F1878991675555218%2F%3Ftype%3D3&#038;show_text=false&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"775\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For every video shared by tagging and using the #Awake hashtag during this campaign, NV Concepts donated $1 to the Suicide Prevention Lifeline. \u201cWe all know that life can get tough sometimes,\u201d Illenium <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/illenium-suicide-prevention-lifeline-awake-8480304\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> on Instagram. \u201cMany of us struggle with anxiety and depression on a daily basis. It\u2019s important to come together and know that you are not alone no matter how hard life can get.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Turno<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Turno - What&#039;s On Your Mind ft. To spread public awareness of the importance of looking after your mental health, DnB DJ Turno collaborated with Myleedan, Too Lippy, Shox, Phizi, and SJ Loq to release the track \u2018What\u2019s On Your Mind?\u2019 a year after his brother\u2019s death.
