The ceremony took place at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester with performances by some of the most celebrated artists in recent years. Best known for her high-energy DJ sets, which include dancehall, jungle, footwork and rave music, <strong>SHERELLE<\/strong> was crowned the Best Electronic\/Dance Act at this year&#8217;s ceremony. Irish singer-songwriter and DJ Jazzy, Manchester-based DJ\/producer salute, Grammy winner FKA Twigs, singer-songwriter and producer PinkPantheress and Zambian-Scottish DJ\/producer KILIMANJARO were also up for the accolade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThirty years ago, the MOBO Organisation was born out of a desire to create space where there was none \u2014 to recognise, celebrate and elevate Black music and culture,&#8221; MOBO&#8217;s founder Kanya King <a href=\"https:\/\/mixmag.net\/read\/sherelle-wins-best-electronic-dance-act-at-mobos-2026-news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>. \u201cFrom global icons to the next generation of trailblazers, this stage continues to be a home for excellence, creativity and truth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"MOBO Salutes Grime - DJ Target, Chip, D Double E, Nolay, Scorcher, Wiley (MOBO Awards 2026)\" width=\"702\" height=\"395\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NA4dgGQYyMQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:1px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">London\u2019s DJ Target curated a medley dedicated to the last 25 years of grime. The special homage featured the grime MC and producer Wiley, Best Grime Act winner Chip, Edmonton\u2019s grime MC, songwriter and actor Scorcher, British grime MC D Double E, DJ and producer from Forest Gate and rapper NoLay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grammy and BRIT Awards winner <strong>Olivia Dean<\/strong> was named the Best Female Act at the MOBO Awards 2026. She also took home the Album Of The Year prize and Song Of The Year award for her hit track \u2018Man I Need.\u2019 Star on the rise <strong>Jim Legxacy<\/strong> bagged the Best Male Act trophy. Nigerian-British producer <strong>P2J<\/strong>, who has produced tracks for artists such as Beyonc\u00e9, Doja Cat, Stormzy, Burna Boy, and more, was awarded the Best Producer award, while <strong>Central Cee<\/strong> is this year\u2019s Best Hip Hop Act at the annual British music awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis isn\u2019t just a celebration of the past \u2014 it\u2019s a statement about the future. Both of us really want to support grassroots venues so much and I am looking forward to touring with them!\u201d said the London-born-and-raised DJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s time for the music industry to bring back regional touring.
