Episodes of the four-part documentary series titled \u2018The Man Will Burn\u2019 will air on Thursdays throughout this month from July 9 to July 30. \u201cA front-row look at Burning Man, the 80,000-person social experiment in the desert, during four years of upheaval and reinvention,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hbomax.com\/shows\/man-will-burn\/6e69de11-44dc-472a-a7bb-1f0b4be7738b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reads<\/a> the description of the four-part docu-series on HBO Max.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Directed by Jehane Noujaim (\u2018The Square\u2019) and Vikram Gandhi (\u2018Barry\u2019), the documentary series was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought the live music industry to a standstill and led to the cancellation of Burning Man. \u2018The Man Will Burn\u2019 examines the desert event through archival footage. You can learn about the origins of the festival and the challenges it faced in recent years after the pandemic. The docuseries includes interviews with the Burning Man CEO, founders, attendees and more, giving a deeper insight into the festival and the hurdles it faced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HBO has also unveiled a trailer ahead of the premiere of the documentary. The rise of social media influencers at the event and an influx of Big Tech money threaten the community spirit integral to Burning Man, risking it becoming a victim of its own success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Burning Man was started by Larry Harvey and Jerry James in 1986 and since then the desert festival has grown exponentially, welcoming about 70,000 &#8211; 80,000 visitors each year.
