Musicians in Mexico are back on the streets, entertaining people stuck at home, to make ends meet. (Picture credit : Reuters)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>As per <a href=\"https:\/\/in.reuters.com\/article\/us-health-coronavirus-mexico-music\/mexican-street-musicians-bring-melodies-to-people-stuck-at-home-idINKBN23O2I7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reports<\/a>, the sounds of marimbas, trumpets, and g\u00fciros booming in the streets of Mexico have once again become a common sight since bars, cantinas (a type of bar common in Latin America and Spain), and events with live-performances are currently non-existent in the country. You have to bring them joy,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=eb4Y-httLsQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a> in a video. People are seen enjoying the live performances from their balconies, singing along and dancing as the band plays traditional Mexican songs such as <em>Cielito Lindo<\/em> and <em>B\u00e9same Mucho<\/em>. Pedestrians requested their favorite songs, tipping them on their way. In another part of the city, an instrumentalist is seen <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Nataliekitro\/status\/1260259918344585222\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">playing<\/a> \u2018Hey Jude\u2019 by The Beatles standing on the sidewalk. \u201cThis is the city\u2019s quarantine soundtrack&#8221;, said journalist Paulina Villegas in a New York Times Report. Their revival after the country unlocks its stay-at-home is also questionable as it solely depends on the monetary fluctuation incurred by the employers. \u201cI hope to resume the pace we had. If the restaurants where we were working aren\u2019t affected or don\u2019t close forever, we\u2019ll continue doing the same,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/in.reuters.com\/article\/us-health-coronavirus-mexico-music\/mexican-street-musicians-bring-melodies-to-people-stuck-at-home-idINKBN23O2I7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">they<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p>Mexico City is the worst-affected area in the country. The city <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moneycontrol.com\/news\/world\/coronavirus-pandemic-mexico-city-halts-reopening-amid-surge-in-covid-19-cases-5436151.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">halted<\/a> its reopening plan after witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases. As per the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldometers.info\/coronavirus\/country\/mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">official\u00a0government count<\/a>, the city of Mexico has 191,410 infected cases and 23,377 deaths.
