These gigs will feature the live band from Juvenile’s NPR Tiny Desk, along with other special guests that will honor the artist’s incredible contribution to hip-hop for more than two decades. The ‘Set It Off’ rapper will kick off his 25th anniversary shows of 400 Degreez on October 18 in San Francisco. He will stop in Los Angeles on October 19 before his Oakland show on October 20.
Juvenile, who is among the finest talents that have delivered one of the most influential albums of the ‘90s, kicked off his career in bounce music. His debut album ‘Being Myself’ came in the mid-90s, and soon he released his first record ‘’Solja Rags’ via Birdman and Ronald “Slim” Williams’ Cash Money Records. The label also boasts big names like Nicki Minaj, Lil’ Wayne, and Drake on their roster.
Juvenile’s iconic album ‘400 Degreez’ was rolled out in 1998. It featured the rapper’s notable singles ‘Ha’ and ‘Back That Azz Up.’ Terius Gray AKA Juvenile left Cash Money Records in the early 2000s but reunited with Birdman for a collaborative album on his latest twelve-track record ‘Just Another Gangsta’ released in 2019.
The artist was also a part of the hip-hop group Hot Boys alongside Turk, B.G., and rap star Lil’ Wayne. He has four Billboard Hot 100 entries, including the top 20 hit ‘Back That Thang Up’ featuring Mannie Fresh & Lil’ Wayn and the chart-topper ‘Slow Motion’ with Soulja Slim. Naturally, he has garnered millions of streams on Spotify with ‘Rodeo,’ ‘Back That Azz Up,’ and ‘Do It Big’ being a part of his popular releases at the time of writing. This year, his musical offerings include ‘I Need You,’ and collaborative tracks ‘Crack of Dat Ass’ with Lavish Caminshion, and the latest ‘Freak Sum’ from Drumma Boy, T-Rell, and Juvenile.
NPR Music hosted Juvenile for a Tiny Desk Concert in 2023 with a live band that will also join the rapper at his forthcoming gigs in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Oakland. His Tiny Desk Concert has received over 5.7 million views on YouTube!
Juvenile will be bringing the producer DaBoyDame to the Oakland gig. Other special guests are yet to be announced. The live band’s music will blast through the top-notch sound system at the anniversary shows this month.
