Bikeadelic Hoedown To Bring Fanna-Fi-Allah, David Satori and More

California’s notable arts and entertainment crew, Tea Tribe, takes over Sweet Ballroom in Oakland for ‘The Bikeadelic Hoedown’ feasting on world folk jam and folktronica. Tea Tribe’s Bikeadelic Hoedown is penciled in for April 19, with live performances by Canadian-American Qawwali brigade Fanna-Fi-Allah, multi-instrumentalist David Satori of Beats Antique, vocalist and virtuoso of the oud, sitar, saz, duduk Maz Karandish aka Mah Ze Tar, and also integrating Sufi whirling by Dervish Aziz and Anna Whirling. Tickets to Bikeadelic Hoedown on Bicycle Day are available on The Ticket Fairy.

Fanna-Fi-Allah was formed in 2001 by Qawwali performers Tahir Qawwal and Aminah Chishti, who were committed to spreading the Sufi message across the globe. Since its inception, the ensemble has made its presence live in India, Indonesia, Egypt, Pakistan, and the UK. Their stop in Oakland arrives as part of their USA Spring Tour 2024.

The curtain opens at 7 PM with the experimental community The Psychedelic Hoedown onstage, followed by Mah Ze Tar with a Persian-Indian-Electronic session, leading onto Sufi Qawwali music by Fanna-Fi-Allah and psychedelic folktronica by David Satori. The Psychedelic Hoedown Jam closes the showcase with musicians Sidecar Tommy, Jesse Toews, Briana Di Mara, Soji Sai, Isaac Cantor & Friends, and Amre Leon Dana.

Vegan meals and non-alcoholic beverages are on offer at the show, along with a complementary Gong Fu tea service. The upper level of Sweet Ballroom is allotted for body movement.

World Bicycle Day is celebrated across the world on June 3; however, April 19 commemorates the day Swiss chemist Dr. Albert Hofmann accidentally discovered the effects of psychedelics on the human body after studying and dosing himself with LSD and taking a trippy bike ride home.
