Bursting onto the Kiwi electronic scene in 2022, they have made their presence known at Summer Friends Festival, Fadeout, and ODDS ON Festivals held in their home turf of New Plymouth. FAST BOY

An arm’s distance away from the techno scene in Germany, its electronic dance music division has a fiery brand of house music courtesy of brothers Lucas and Felix Hain, thriving as FAST BOY. Felix dons the role of a producer and Lucas lends his vocal chops to the collective; together they create powerful dance anthems by fusing pop hooks and electronic beats with an international sound.

Originally from Karlstadt, Sweden, the Berlin-based pair launched their music project in 2021 and garnered international recognition via their singles ‘Bad Memories’ (as a featured artist), ‘Forget You,’ and ‘One Day.’ They currently boast over six million monthly listeners on Spotify, and their spectacular rise in the dance music space has taken the brothers to Europe’s most sought-after venues and festivals, including Parookaville (Germany), Electric Love, Donauinselfest (Austria), and Tomorrowland (Belgium).

Stapling their music releases with the likes of Tiesto (‘All My Life’), David Guetta (‘Chills – Feel My Love’), and Ofenbach (‘Love Me Now’), to name a few, one can only marvel at their potential and future endeavors.

Krewella

Chicago-based sisters Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf latched themselves onto the electronic circuit in 2007, as high school students, and swept into the EDM scene in 2012 with their debut EP, ‘Play Hard.’ Their piano-infused dance pop track ‘Alive’ from this EP climbed to number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Krewella would go on to steadily establish a reputation for themselves with a wide variety of productions that included drum & bass, dance-pop, dance-rock, electro, dubstep, and progressive house, and entertained ravers at Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, Stereosonic, Spring Awakening, and Sunburn Festival, to highlight a few.

Born into a multicultural household, their family influenced their musical roots, and they began experimenting with music at a young age, first with a karaoke machine and later with a guitar and drums. Famously regarding female empowerment in the electronic scene, Yasmine stated in a 2019 interview with Teen Vogue, “I think when women band together, it’s a really powerful statement. It’s not about being against men, it’s about building us up.”

Showtek

From Eindhoven arrives Dutch electronic music duo Showtek, consisting of brothers Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen. Born two years apart, they took their steps into the electronic music scene in 2001 and quickly associated their brand with techno, hardstyle, and jumpstyle genres. 2007 saw the release of their debut 35-track album, ‘Today Is Tomorrow,’ spanning two CDs. It acquired a 95/100 rating from the online Dutch music community Partyflock.

In their career thus far, they have worked with a variety of well-known artists, including David Guetta (Bad,’ ‘No Money No Love‘), Steve Aoki (‘Mirror Mirror‘) Moby (‘Natural Blues‘), Timmy Trumpet (‘Burn‘) and Wyclef Jean (‘Down Easy‘), and through the years incorporated elements of house, electro house, EDM, techno, and hardstyle into their productions.

Showtek returned to their hardstyle roots in 2024 with their album ‘360 Blue‘ and conveyed to We Rave You, “Hardstyle is a feeling, a lifestyle, and community; the fans have an unmatched love for their sound and their music. Being part of that makes you realise that you do this all for the same purpose: the love for music.”

NERVO

Olivia and Miriam, twin sisters from Melbourne, Australia, have been a dominant force in dance music as NERVO for over a decade. They have routinely featured on DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs list since 2012 (only female DJs voted on that year) and have connected with fans via their nearly 200 shows per year.

Known for their big room, electro house, and progressive house sound, they have reigned supreme at festivals such as Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo, Lollapalooza, and Creamfields, while also occupying residencies at some of the most sought-after clubs the world over, including the opulent Omnia Nightclub in Las Vegas.

NERVO’s career skyrocketed after the producer-songwriter duo co-wrote ‘When Love Takes Over,’ performed by David Guetta and Kelly Rowland in 2009. It would go on to earn Guetta his first Grammy win a year later under the category of ‘Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical.’ Famously, they have also stapled their name alongside productions with well-known artists such as Kylie Minogue, Kesha, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, Plastik Funk, Robin Schulz, and Krewella.

Talking about women in the electronic space, Olivia told DJ Mag in 2015,’ “You’re seeing a whole lot more girls come through these days, which is really great because once upon a time, you used to Google ‘female DJ’ and all you’d see is like, a girl in a bikini. Whereas now, I think there is, bit by bit, more real-deal female artists that do something.”
