London-based drum & bass artist KlumzyKhemist has unhooked her debut single titled ‘AudioTrip’ via UK label Banished Beats.
After spending years on the EDM circuit across the US and UK – barraging stages and appearing on lineups alongside DnB royalty A.M.C, Metrik, Andy C, Lens, and Degs – DJ/producer Ava Pelham, best known as KlumzyKhemist, now raises the curtain on her first official music release.
Soaring at a relentless 175 BMP, the Master in Chemistry holder lives up to her reputation for formulating fast-paced, heavy-duty mixes laced with intense drops and hard-hitting flows.
Clocking in at just under four minutes, the energetic score smears together molten-hot bursts of drum & bass, hard techno, rattling bass punches, jungle squeezes, and intense neurofunk blots along with a seasoning of dancefloor and jump-up ferocity. KlumzyKhemist builds ‘AudioTrip’ from a driving 4×4 beat into a rolling drum & bass groove, eventually taking shape as a high-velocity dancefloor weapon.
Talking about ‘Audiotrip’ on social media, Ava shared, “For some reason it’s taken me a lot longer than most to learn to produce (which I’m by no means finished learning!). I have quite a few months off at a time from doing it as I will spend hours and hours and days and days on projects that will amount to nothing i like which can get quite soul destroying. I also for many years have put so much pressure on the first release wanting it to represent who I am as an artist as I play a lot of different styles so I really wanted, not only for it to represent my sound, but to f**ing LOVE what I made.”
Having previously performed at Into The Woods Festival, Shambala Festival, XOYO, Ministry of Sound, Lindisfarne Festival, and West Ben Fest, KlumzyKhemist is currently on a hot streak of festival appearances, including the recent Boomtown and Chalfest, with more dates surely locked in.
