PRIMATE Returns to Auckland For Yet Another Round
After ripping through the roof at Darby St. Station earlier this year, drum & bass fanatic PRIMATE has his sights set on Pointers in Auckland this month.
After ripping through the roof at Darby St. Station earlier this year, drum & bass fanatic PRIMATE has his sights set on Pointers in Auckland this month. His last run, in his own words, “9 shows, 7 cities, countless amount of memories and new friends,” was by no means enough for the Belgian jump-up hitman. He makes a very welcome return to New Zealand for a second spell this year as part of his impending Australia & New Zealand Spring Tour. Tickets to Primate’s show in Auckland are up for grabs on Ticket Fairy.
This time around, the tour features four hand-picked stops, viz, Brisbane, Auckland, Adelaide, and Perth. Auckland gets its dose on October 18, 2025, as PRIMATE reconnects with his Kiwi faithful at the iconic live events haunt Pointers.
Since his stopover in March, PRIMATE has kept the momentum going both in the studio and beyond. He has dropped a string of heavy-hitters, namely ‘Dont Forget Me‘ (with DJ-producer/vocalist Ekstatic), ‘Not My Type‘ (alongside chaotic duo GPF), and most recently, the screeching bassline-meets-melodic-dnb cut ‘About Us.’
Beyond the studio, he’s turned heads at a bevy of concerts, including Straatfeesten in Kalmthout, Belgium, and tore it up at the CruCash London showcase, in a face-to-face showdown with AC13. This high-voltage set, available on the CRUCAST channel, has racked up over 19K views on YouTube and earned heaps of praise in the comments.
On the supporting card for the gig, young drum & bass whiz Mathias Thompso, who goes by Taiga, is listed as a special guest performer, while Auckland-based KENZO notches up yet another appearance alongside PRIMATE. Zara Greenfield, aka KAZE, and DJ pair CODEWELL (NOT WELL and Codem) round out the lineup.
Speaking with us ahead of the show, KAZE expressed, “To be performing on a show with an international artist is what every DJ puts in the hard yards for. I am so honored and grateful to Red Rum, now United., for giving me this opportunity to be able to play on a lineup with an international artist that is this well known in the drum and bass community!”
The Auckland-based DJ also dropped a few hints about what to expect from a KAZE session at Pointers sharing, “I am making my set for this gig a little bit different to my usual sound, as I will be opening up the night. I am planning on mixing between a few different drum and bass sub genres, such as jungle, rollers, some euphoric dancefloor, and maybe even a little bit of liquid!“
Doors open from 10 PM. Early bird tickets are already sold out. Secure your entry today via the link below!
