Malli Celebrates the Bond of Sisterhood on Debut Single, ‘Nams’

US-based trio Malli has unveiled their debut single, ‘Nams,’ a nearly five-minute composition that highlights the sisterhood, friendship, and support that women provide for one another.

Via Malli’s new single ‘Nams,’ the band radiates the significance of female companionships, marking a musical tribute to sisterhood, camaraderie, and support that women lend to each other. The single opens with an Indian classical vocal segment, followed by snappy percussive movements and plucky guitar rhythms piloted by Mana’s mellifluous vocals. A neatly arranged string segment by violist Judy Cruces is also winched to produce a dreamy debut offering.

‘Nams’ serves as a flavorful appetizer from Malli as the crew’s debut EP, ‘Leaving Home,’ arrives soon. The EP is slated to be the first piece of a two-part series loaded with reflective lyrics and emotive melodies.

Enunciated as Muhlee, the Indian-origin trio Malli derives their name from the Kannada word for ‘Jasmine flower.’ The band consists of three full-time members: guitarist Arsh Sood, vocalist Mana Contractor, and multi-instrumentalist Navneet Rao. Their music draws inspiration from their diverse personal journeys to the United States, stitching together a sonic ensemble of experiences.
