Jafa Produces Stellar Vocals On New Single, ‘Words Leave’
22-year-old singer-songwriter and producer Ananya Jafa, aka Jafa, has just released her second single ‘Words Leave,’ a wistful tune about the loss of camaraderie via Molfa Music.
22-year-old singer-songwriter and producer Ananya Jafa, aka Jafa, has just released her second single ‘Words Leave,’ a wistful tune about the loss of camaraderie via Molfa Music.
“‘Words Leave’ is about the loss of friendship,” says Jafa, who, through a somber piano melody, choral-esque harmonies and passionate lyrics, sings of the anguish of letting go of a friendship to maintain one’s self-esteem.
Jafa, a classically trained singer and pianist, also serves as a producer on the track, painting a sonic portrait of a conundrum – to hold on or let go of a relationship. Crafted with melancholic key elements and a mighty vocal performance, primped doodles by illustrator/graphic designer Disha Deshmukh accompany the single.
In a statement, Jafa said, “Humans are unpredictable, and sometimes you just begin to dislike a person you once loved. In such scenarios, it’s instinctual to fight for friendship. However, you cannot salvage the situation without humiliating yourself. As you grow older, you learn to let go. You don’t need to beg for someone’s friendship.”
Jafa’s ‘Words Leave’ also marks Molfa’s first release in 2024. Speaking of Ananya’s prowess as a songwriter, Molfa Music‘s Dheer Momaya remarked, “Jafa’s songwriting is sublime, and with each single, she continues to surprise. The strategy with her music is to build deeper audience engagement and have enough music out there, so listeners can immerse themselves in her consciousness.”
