Iam Tongi to Stop by Hamilton as Part of New Zealand Tour on October 6

American Idol 2023 winner Iam Tongi is heading to Australia and New Zealand for a string of concerts in late September and early October. On October 6, 2023, the Hawaii-native singer and performer will put on a one-night-only show at The Factory in Hamilton. Get your tickets from The Ticket Fairy.

Singer William Tongi, best known as Iam Tongi, is set to bring his memorizing vocals and guitar skills to the land down under on a multi-city tour. In addition to the performance at The Factory in Hamilton, the ‘Voice of the Pacific’ artist will hit the stage at the Eden Festival in Auckland. Tongi will perform in Australia at the multi-genre music festival Promiseland and in Narre Warren.

Along with championing season 21 of American Idol, the musician is well-known for his mesmerizing rendition of James Blunt’s ‘Monster.’ Tongi’s original composition, ‘I’ll Be Seeing You,’ also peaked at number one on the iTunes charts in May 2023. In September 2023, the artist released an emotionally charged acoustic rendition of Hawaiian singer Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s ‘Starting All Over Again,’ dedicated to victims of Maui’s disastrous wildfires.

In an interview with American Songwriter in 2023, Iam Tongi described his musical style as being influenced by American singer-songwriter Jack Johnson. He stated, “I want to make music like him, leaning towards that way, but I also love country so, I am trying to see what I can do in between.”

Iam Tongi conveyed on social media that he “can’t wait to sing for everybody” when posting about his upcoming tour in New Zealand.
