Nashville Armored Combat sizes a mammoth display for their season-ending Armored MMA event. Real weapons clash with rigid armor in the steel-caged hexagon as the likes of combatants Kris Fuller, Carli Winquest, Taylor Jones, Matthew Skavroneck, and more go bell to bell.
Fighter Kris Fuller, aged 25, has just over a year of combat training and experience under his belt. Fuller’s arsenal comprises a sword and a shield during battle; his last few bouts were against warriors Mark Schmitt and Steven Hadt. Also heading to the season finale is the towering 6ft 1″ athlete, 22-year-old Matthew Skavroneck, known to wield a mace and buckler during contests. Representing the NAC, Skavroneck has been affiliated with the sport for a little more than two years.
Texas-based San Jacinto Knights of Houston’s competitors, Carli Winquest and Taylor Jones, are also slated to feature at the medieval-style cage fighting season finale. Jones had previously stepped into the arena in Nashville and pitted against Michael DeBruyn in a Texas vs. Tennessee clash. Post the contest, Jones praised Armored MMA via social media, stating that the organization “is taking all the steps in the right direction,” while assuring fans he would make a return in November.
Andrew Griffith, Mickey Gallus, Ricky Rayome, Steven Hadt, Kelsey Leta, Skylar Debruyn, and many more fighters have been roped in for the finale. Fanatics of this sport still have reason to flock to the Nashville Palace for this season’s closing swansong with skilled fighters and ‘real weapons, real armor, and real violence’ on offer.
When we spoke to Nashville Armored Combat’s Mickey Gallus earlier this year, he told us the importance of the fans in attendance, saying, “We understand that we would be nowhere without our fans. They mean everything to us and their attendance every month is what drives us and helps us grow. We at Armored MMA just want to give a huge thank you to them.”
