Pittsburgh’s EDM mavens and bass culture specialists, Metamind Artistry Collective, is set to take over SideQuest on December 13, 2024, detonating waves of jungletek, hardcore, hardstyle, and DnB with genre-bending artist Mandidextrous at the forefront. Bristol-based DJ and producer Mandidextrous takes their floor-shaking signature sound to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s SideQuest on 44th, capitulating ahead scores of jungletek, speed bass, hardtek, 4×4, DnB, and techno. Known for their peculiar 190 BPM speed bass image, Mandidextrous delivers wicked high-octane sessions, jolting audiences throughout the set non-stop.
Mandidextrous’s infectious sound and lively DJ sessions were also lauded by UKF, who noted, “If ever there was a fitting soundtrack to a time in dance music history, it’s Mandidextrous’s Speed Bass concept.” In 2023, Mandidextrous’s career bagged another milestone as they were awarded DnB Arena’s Critic’s Choice Award, earning this merit by vote from numerous industry professionals.
Shouldering music responsibilities for this hard-dance escapade at Pittsburgh will be TheLaunch (J-core, jungle, hardcore), Scott Kerrigan aka DJ Kupiter, Metamind Artistry Collective’s ChaoticStyle (hardcore, experimental, DnB), and multi-genre DJ Drusilla Chabala, who goes by Drucifer.
Ahead of this shindig, we had a brief exchange with Drucifer, who slots in on opening duties for the evening.
“I am honored Metamind asked me to be a part of this upcoming event,” the DnB fanatic expressed. “Drum and bass has been my passion for many years now and I’m so excited to share the stage with some big names who have been an influence on me throughout my career. I’m especially excited to be on a lineup with Mandidextrous, not only do I respect them as a producer/DJ, but as a trans woman, I really admire their push for more trans and non-binary visibility in such a male-dominated scene.”
Briefing us on her upcoming set, Drucifer conveyed, “I plan to take the crowd on a journey through the whole spectrum of DNB, starting off with the more soulful side while building intensity to explore more dance floor heavy sounds. I look forward to seeing everyone on the dance floor!”
