A few months after delivering the dance-inducing collaborative track ‘Ice 2 Water,’ Wakyin returns with yet another captivating release, ‘Peligrosa.’
‘Peligrosa,’ meaning ‘dangerous,’ finds the US-based artist of Dominican and Puerto Rican heritage channeling a deep house pulse infused with Afro house rhythms and melodic elements.
Released via Ultra Records on August 20, ‘Peligrosa’ has already featured on heavy rotation in the sets of current scene frontrunners and boundary-pushing selectors like Adam Port, &ME, Gordo, and more. Notably, Berlin-based DJs &ME and Adam Port, core members of the Keinemusik collective and label, dropped the ID around 7 AM during a recent set.
Wakyin wraps the production with hypnotic vocals hovering over a groovy blend of Latin house and twists of Afro house beats. The resulting percussion-driven rhythm is riveting, packed with energy, and delivers a mouthwatering onslaught of house, deep house, Afro house, and melodic house relays shipped for clubs and festivals alike.
As with his 2023 breakout hit ‘Beso,’ which racked up over 110 million streams on Spotify, the melodically vibrant undercurrents of ‘Peligrosa’ feel primed to follow suit. Wakyin has already seen a strong response while road-testing his new single during recent live sets, drawing a wild reaction when he cast out the then-unreleased track during his AFROHOUSE TEMPLE set at IŠTAR Club in Madrid.
