Harasis Wadhwa – ‘Purgatory’
Take a lap through the budding discography of Delhi-based musician Harasis Wadhwa and you’ll find blazing progressive rock/metal textures, sweeping melodies, and lush string arrangements, all underscored by lethal guitar shredding. Still in his teens, the guitarist-composer has already stormed stages at Prog Encounter 3.0 (Gurugram), The Big Mammoth Festival 5 (Kolkata), and played the opening slot for Sutej Singh’s Restless | Relentless shows in Delhi and Gurugram this year.
Adding to these highlights of 2025, Harasis Wadhwa also dropped a new single titled ‘Purgatory.’ Clocking in at nearly four minutes, the track bursts open with ferocious energy that never lets up. Armed with crashing drums, shredding guitars, and clanging basslines, Harasis fires off a blistering onslaught of progressive metal, chaotic djent riffs, and explosive rhythms.
For the young guitarist, ‘Purgatory’ is steeped in themes of “nostalgia and growth” and stands as a tribute to his high school group as well as a testament to his evolution as a budding performer. In a press release, Harasis expressed, “The song carries the raw energy of those first performances while showcasing the maturity and perspective that I’ve obtained with the passing of time.”

Feathers of Jatinga – ‘Crypt of Faded Grace’
A year on from the release of their gothic-rock ballad ‘Cold Dead Love,’ Feathers of Jatinga (Vedant Kaushik and Vishal J. Singh) return with another bold blend of goth metal, progressive rock, and doom metal in their new single ‘Crypt of Faded Grace.’
Described as a “heavy, melodic, romantic, and irresistibly gloomy,” this new outing is layered with roaring guitars, stomping drums, and a haunting yet beautiful, atmospheric sound. Guest vocalist Ereka delivers a striking performance, drifting between mellow passages and soaring sections with emotional weight and depth.
In an email exchange, Feathers of Jatinga shared, “Lyrically, ‘Crypt of Faded Grace’ explores love in its most fragile, timeless form. Romantic yet shadowed.”

Saachi – ‘Wishbone’ (Album)
Plug in alternative/indie pop artist Saachi’s debut new album ‘Wishbone,’ for a sonic buffet packed with groovy hooks, jazz funk bops, and emotionally rich ditties anchored by an inspirational backstory behind its name.
The record weaves Saachi’s earlier releases from this year, alongside four fresh cuts and an interlude segment with podcaster Mae Mariyam Thomas. From the album, ‘The Power’ serves up gritty alternative-pop hues that subtly crisscross with divine harmonies and Hindustani classical recitals in its closing moments. ‘Planetary’ shapes a breezy motif with delicious bass licks and warm guitar strokes, while ‘Wild’ keeps the groovy momentum rolling. ‘Eyes On Me’ showcases Saachi’s dynamic vocal delivery, latching on to each lyric with intent.
On naming her debut album ‘Wishbone,’ Saachi explained in a press note, “Wishbones are parts of birds’ clavicles that allow them to withstand the rigors of flight. I think ‘flight’ is something we all long for. To soar through all of the things life throws our way. To be able to do that, we need to tend to our Wishbone.”

DJ LYAN x Iykki Berry x Riko Dan – ‘Block’
British music producer DJ LYAN teamed up with Tamil singer/rap artist Iykki Berry and UK grime
bigwig Riko Dan to unleash a frenzied bass-house banger in ‘BLOCK.’ The high-octane track cobbles together Iykki Berry‘s rapid-fire vocal delivery with Riko Dan’s unmistakable patois bars, all layered over a virulent barrage of bass-heavy beats courtesy of DJ LYAN.
Iykki Berry charges in first, flailing out gritty lyrics in Tamil, while English MC Riko Dan follows suit with fiery verses in English. ‘Block’ keeps the pulse high from start to finish, rattling with non-stop intensity alongside thunderous drops and raw lyricism. Since its release, it has gained over 2K plays on Spotify.

ZorroOz x TheBoyWithDreams -‘Hai Aisa Kyun’
Rappers ZorroOZ (Sitanshu Pathak) and TheBoyWithDreams (Rahul Phillip Kerketta) lock arms on ‘Hai Aisa Kyun,’ a bilingual lo-fi hip-hop track produced by up-and-coming artist Aman Alexander. The idea first sparked when ZorroOZ struck up a conversation with a fellow bus traveler, a stranger silently battling depression and caught in a cycle of hopelessness.
That encounter triggered a bigger narrative about mental illness and society’s silence around it, told through ZorroOZ’s introspective verses and TheBoyWithDreams’s easy-flowing lines over laid-back beats. In an email, the artists described the song as “being stuck in life, the feeling that you’re not enough, struggling in every aspect of life, and the hope for any improvement is just very little.“

Tanisha Sharma – ‘The Stars Await’ (EP)
Describing herself as “someone who loves to write and create new music and sing her heart out,” Bengaluru-based artist Tanisha Sharma is certainly drawing ears to her debut EP, ‘The Stars Await.’ Released on October 2, 2025, the three-song collection was written, composed, recorded, and produced by Tanisha herself, with producer-composer Royal Sen handling the mixing and mastering roles.
‘The Stars Await’ courses through themes of growth, love, and ambition while taking listeners on a soul-stirring escape. Sitting atop the pile is ‘Goodbye,’ woven with snappy, crisp vocals pressed against a warm noughties-era jam. ‘Fly’ channels an R&B-flavored pulse and flows with buoyant energy, while ‘How Does He Do It’ drops into a fast-paced dance-pop outing, taped together with a rich guitar riff and an evocative string-laden outro.

Jay Rana – ‘INITIATE’
Hailing from Vadodara, based in Mumbai, and poised to tap into listeners across the world, multifaceted musician Jay Rana kicked off his guitar-driven solo project with the release of his first single ‘INITIATE.’ Glistening with picky guitar scales going berserk from the onset, the composition steers toward a tuneful yet punchy progressive-rock ballad, which is easy on the ears and keeps you latched on for more.
According to Jay, the track “reflects on the bittersweet paradox of achievement—how the arrival can feel underwhelming, yet necessary, as it sparks the next chapter. At its heart, ‘INITIATE’ is about beginnings: the moment of courage when you take the first step, knowing the journey itself is what transforms you!”

Varun Nimbolkar – ‘Bah Bah Black Sheep’ (EP)
On the heels of guesting on Derek & The Cats’ album ‘People to Meet, Places to See,’ sitarist and composer Varun Nimbolkar has released a stunning five-track EP titled ‘Bah Bah Black Sheep.’ The project is a genre-bending journey, meticulously crafted with synths, electronic drums, snazzy guitars, and Nimbolkar’s signature sitar work.
On this EP, you’ll be treated to ‘Amrita 2.0,’ a splendid psytrance-soaked follow-up to Varun’s earlier release ‘Amrita.’ Twining four genres, including touches of opera and Indian classical elements, Varun called it, ”by far my most experimental track!”
Next comes ‘Maayus,’ a slick bass guitar-led composition in a ghazal style, which is pulled from the works of poet Sahir Ludhianvi. The experimentation continues on ‘!Okay’ where sitar plucks meet feisty rhymes courtesy of rapper Tienas. ‘Queen’s Bath,’ named after the historic structure in Hampi, features Sangeeta Mardur’s bellowing alaap that flows over mellow synths and reverberating percussion, which intertwine with Varun’s melodious crooning to stitch a calm yet intense romantic soundscape.
Infused with psytrance, electronica, opera, ghazal, and hip-hop, the EP is pressed with a vibrant and eclectic sonic character that shines brightly.
