Decks, Lights, Action: James Hype Uploads His SYNC Set Online

Globally recognized English DJ/record producer James Hype has brought his full SYNC set from the iconic dancefloor of Hï Ibiza to screens worldwide with a new YouTube upload.

James Hype’s carefully crafted SYNC setup is an LED DJ booth where every push of a button kicks off a corresponding visual. It is built to sync his on-stage moves with choreographed lighting, thus creating a fully immersive experience.

First talked about back in February of this year, Hype called SYNC “the start of something wild,” emphasizing how important visuals are in dance music. He also admitted struggling to find visuals that could match the intensity of his performances.

In his candid and insightful Moving Different segments on YouTube, Hype further explained that he needed to find a way to amplify his energy and skill behind the decks with visuals, making sure they’d enhance, and not distract from, his onstage presence. His breakthrough came from watching a game show designer, sparking the idea, “What if my decks controlled the visuals?”

You can stream the full, nearly two-hour experience on his YouTube channel, and it is nothing short of stunning. Since its premiere on August 29, it’s racked up over 70,000 views and a boatload of praise in the comments section.

Via social media, James Hype revealed how SYNC came to life. He shared, “This started as a vision from watching a game show designer on YouTube. Then, through some practice builds and rehearsals, the team made it a reality. Putting SYNC into Hi, Ibiza every Monday was a HUGE challenge, but working with their team, we managed to make it happen.”

The ‘Ferrari’ hitmaker is lighting up Hï Ibiza every Monday night as part of the MEDUZA & James Hype OUR HOUSE residency, running until September 29, 2025.
