As the planet gets ready for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, FIFA has announced the Countdown Concert series and the official soundtrack ahead of the highly anticipated international football competition. The soundtrack showcases the diversity and magnitude of the upcoming World Cup, scheduled to take place from June 11, 2026, to July 19, 2026, co-hosted by Mexico, the United States and Canada.
American EDM and DJ group Major Lazer’s contribution to the soundtrack is ‘No Place Like Home’ featuring Davido and Nelly Furtado, while Los Ángeles Azules and Belinda offer ‘Por Ella.’ Latin music superstar Shakira returns to the official FIFA World Cup tracklist with Burna Boy with the track ‘Dai Dai’ after her global hit and a timeless classic ‘Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)’ recorded for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The soundtrack also features ‘In the Stars (Remix)’ from the Rolling Stones, Future and Tyla’s ‘Game Time,’ ‘‘Blessings’ by Stormzy, Fridayy and Angel, and ‘Goals’ from LISA, Anitta and Rema, among others.
“FIFA has brought together an extraordinarily strong music squad and one befitting the biggest single-sport event in history,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino in a statement, as per Complex. “From global superstars to breakthrough voices who are shaping the future of music, the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album features artists from across continents, languages and genres in a project designed to unite fans worldwide through the power of music and football.”
The Countdown Concert series will see performances from Major Lazer in Los Angeles, with Los Ángeles Azules featuring Belinda and Elena Rose confirmed for the Mexico City show, while Bryan Adams will take the stage in Canada. The line-up and more special guests are yet to be announced for this Countdown Concert Series scheduled for 6 PM in Los Angeles, 7 PM in Mexico City, and 8 PM in Toronto on June 10, 2026.
