L’auteur du tube « Peaches », Justin Bieber, arrive en tête avec huit nominations aux Europe Music Awards de cette année.
Il était notamment nommé dans les catégories « Meilleur artiste », « Meilleure pop », « Meilleure vidéo » pour « Peaches », « Meilleure collaboration » avec The Kid LAROI et « Plus grands fans ». L’artiste était aussi en compétition contre lui-même dans la catégorie « Meilleure chanson », où il était nommé à la fois pour « Peaches » ET « STAY ».
Présentés cette année par la rappeuse de « Icy Girl », Saweetie, les European Music Awards se sont tenus à la László Papp Budapest Sports Arena de Budapest, en Hongrie. C’est la première fois que le pays accueillait la cérémonie.
Les artistes les plus nommés après lui cette année sont la star de « Say So », Doja Cat, et le rappeur de « MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) », Lil Nas X, qui ont chacun reçu six nominations. Évidemment, Olivia Rodrigo est aussi de la partie ! La chanteuse de « good 4 u » est à égalité avec The Kid LAROI et la superstar mondiale Ed Sheeran, avec cinq nominations chacun aux MTV Europe Music Awards 2021. Comme toujours, MTV a laissé aux fans le soin de décider quels artistes repartiront aujourd’hui avec un MTV EMA !
Ed Sheeran a remporté de grands prix : son titre « Bad Habits » lui a valu les récompenses du « Meilleur artiste » et de la « Meilleure chanson ». Lil Nas X, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, Maluma et Saweetie elle-même ont également goûté à la victoire lors de ces MTV Europe Music Awards électrisants.
Mais c’est le septuor sud-coréen BTS qui a passé la meilleure soirée, toutes catégories confondues. Le groupe a remporté quatre prix au total, notamment dans les catégories « Meilleure pop », « Meilleur K-Pop », « Meilleur groupe » et « Plus grands fans ».
