Emily Eavis – the co-organizer of the Glastonbury Festival, revealed to The Sun that the five-day music festival will be returning in 2027, following the 2025 edition of the musical blowout. Eavis told The Sun that Glastonbury is set to take a fallow year in 2026. She said that this decision is being taken to “give the land a rest.” The festival also had a fallow year in 2018.
Festival-goers need not worry; there are plans to have some big things in store for Glastonbury’s next edition in 2025 as Eavis shared, “The festival before a fallow year is always a fun one to plan, because you almost have to fit two years into one.”
We’re already in talks with some acts for it. It’s exciting!” she added.
The 2024 edition of the festival recently concluded on June 30 at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset. Over 200,000 revelers flocked to Glastonbury 2024 held from June 26 – 30. The festival saw pop sensation Dua Lipa, ‘Kill Bill’ hitmaker SZA, Coldplay, and Shania Twain lead the bill. Nigerian singer-songwriter and producer Burna Boy, Janelle Monáe, English electronic music duo Disclosure, Little Simz, American rock band The National hailing from Ohio, and Peggy Gou hit the Glastonbury stage this year. The festival also hosted dance music acts like Faithless, Eliza Rose, Honey Dijon, Skream & Benga, and Bonobo, to name a few.
For the 2024 edition of the festival, BBC broadcasted performances from Glastonbury to music lovers all over the world for the very first time. Fans were able to see both Coldplay and Dua Lipa take the festival stage. In case you missed it, you can watch the full sets on BBC.
