OneDown and KUZO Deliver New Afro-House Single, ‘Golden Sun’

The trio from Nairobi, Kenya, conjure an absolute hip-shaking and head-bobbing dance track, arriving on Mozambique-based label My Other Side of the Moon.

DJ/producer and co-founder of Kenya’s buzzing Aduma parties, OneDown, staples yet another collaborative project by joining forces with Afro-centric and world music-influenced pair KUZO (Trevor and Paul) to cook up their first music release.

Collaboration amplifies creativity, and the trio effortlessly hauls Kenya’s vibrant and dynamic Afro-house productions to the forefront with ‘Golden Sun.’

Each artist ferries in a medley of their essences, kicking off with a driving beat laced with hooting horns that result in an Afro-house, deep house, and tech house feel. Blissful brass sections followed by ominous piano chords are carefully arranged to build a powerful crescendo. Polished with passion and radiating with rhythm, ‘Golden Sun’ is peppered with a whiff of amapiano.

‘Golden Sun’ follows on from OneDown’s very well-received ‘Flute Song,’ featuring Shona SA and Thee Suka, and marks another stamp on record label My Other Side of the Moon after the release of ‘Othaya’ in 2024.

KUZO, on the other hand, envelops their productions in Afro-house, Afro-tech, and ethnic music. They made their debut at Aduma to a rousing response in February of this year and have heaps more music on the way.
