Mumbai Vibes to BLOND:ISH’s Surprise Set

Delivering an early Christmas present to her fans in India, Canadian DJ/producer BLOND:ISH lit up the streets of Mumbai on Saturday, November 29.

Delivering an early Christmas present to her fans in India, Canadian DJ/producer BLOND:ISH lit up the streets of Mumbai on Saturday, November 29.

In what was likely a whirlwind of a day, the melodic house maestro revealed she was in India for 24 hours on her social channels. Her surprise pop-up, quickly patched together by N’VEVIBE and its talent agency Lumos, began taking shape through group chats from 6 PM onwards, with the artist on the hunt for an “iconic” location in the city of seven islands.

Fast forward to the late evening, and a sidewalk stretch fittingly outside a jewelry store opposite the UNESCO World Heritage Site Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus turned into her stage. Plugged in with two speakers with a 12 dB permit, a console, and the soft shuffle of passing traffic, BLOND:ISH stepped in for an hour-long set from 9 PM onward.

The eco-conscious performer got her session rolling surrounded by an energetic flock of ravers, the city’s dim night lights, and a pulse that carried through the crowd. Her arrival and departure were swift, and before anyone could settle into the moment, BLOND:ISH was back on a plane headed to Miami to make the Long Feng Art Basel event and the rest of her tour dates.
