His career is a testament to longevity, built on a foundation of melodic integrity that has become instantly recognizable across global dancefloors.

Throughout his two-billion-stream catalog of melodic, groove-driven originals and remixes, EDX has played many important roles, starting with being the founder of Sirup Music – one of the scene’s most respected independent music group, his long-running No Xcuses radio show (approaching its 800th this year), and residencies at iconic venues from Ibiza to Las Vegas, which make EDX an artist, entrepreneur, and tastemaker whose impact resonates across multiple layers of the scene.

Now stepping into a new chapter, EDX has opened his 2026 repertoire with a deeply evocative club offering named ‘Innerglow,’ released on PinkStar Records. As we’d expect from an EDX release, ‘Innerglow’ carries both emotional depth and dancefloor power that is built for late-night dancefloors and golden-hour euphoria. As EDX looks ahead to the rest of the year, we caught up with EDX to dive deeper into the inspiration behind ‘Innerglow,’ how his sound has helped shape the modern progressive house aesthetic, revisit his Grammy nomination, and understand his thoughts on the ever-shifting landscape of dance music today.

TFword: Your latest single, ‘Innerglow,’ feels both euphoric and introspective at the same time. What was the emotional starting point for the record when you first began writing it?
EDX: It started with a sunrise. I just got home from a gig in the Swiss mountains, exhausted but wired, and that golden light hit just right. That moment between night and day—when you’re still carrying the energy of the dancefloor but the world is waking up… that’s where “Innerglow” was born.

TF: The title itself suggests something deeply personal. What does the idea of ‘Innerglow’ mean to you beyond the dancefloor?
EDX: It’s that fire that keeps you going when nobody’s watching. The belief in yourself when the room is empty. After thirty years, I’ve learned that external validation fades, but innerglow? That’s permanent. It’s your compass.

TF: You’ve described the track as capturing those late-night moments when the music takes over. Was there a specific club, set, or experience that inspired the mood of this record?
EDX: 2012, Space Ibiza, 7 AM, after a very long set. The floor was thinning out, but the people were still there. They were connected on another level. Pure energy, no ego, no phones. That’s the feeling I wanted to bottle.

TF: Many of your tunes evoke a strong sense of atmosphere and escapism. Was there a particular sonic palette or production technique that helped shape the emotional depth of ‘Innerglow’?
EDX: Analog warmth. In the studio, we went back to some old gear, the stuff we used in the late 90s. There’s a roundness you can’t fake with plugins. Sometimes the path forward means revisiting where you started.

TF: You’ve been shaping dance music for over three decades. When you listen to your productions today compared to your releases from a decade ago, what differences stand out the most to you?
EDX: Patience. Younger me wanted to fill every second with something. Now? I trust the silence between the notes. I trust that less arrangement can mean more emotion. But to be sincere, a decade later, I’m bringing back the old signature sound, just with a fresher, more adult twist.

TF: In a landscape where stylistic changes happen quickly, how important is it for you to protect the identity of your sound while still experimenting with new ideas?
EDX: Essential. Your sound is your fingerprint. EDX has always been at the forefront while sticking to a very unique signature. Trends are temporary, but identity is forever. In sessions, we experiment within the EDX lane, but we never abandon it. The “No Xcuses” motto applies here too: be unapologetically you.

TF: From running Sirup Music to hosting No Xcuses, your work extends far beyond DJing and producing. What do you think has been the key to sustaining longevity in electronic music?
EDX: Love the process, not just the moments. The Grammy nomination is incredible, the residencies are special, but if you don’t love the studio at 3 am when nobody’s listening, you won’t last. I genuinely love every layer of this life.

TF: With No Xcuses approaching its 800th episode, what does the show represent for you today compared to when you first launched it?
EDX: It started as my voice. Now it’s a conversation. Back then, I was sharing what I loved. Today, it’s a bridge between me, the fans, and the new artists I believe in. It’s become family.

TF: You’ve been nominated for a Grammy Award, which is a milestone many artists dream about. Can you take us back to the moment when you first heard the news?
EDX: I was on a flight from Frankfurt to Atlanta, kicking off another North America Tour, in the middle of the afternoon. My phone exploded. Sat there for five minutes just staring at the seat in front of me. Sent out a few texts to my team to share the news and show gratitude. Getting there was only possible with their endless support. It was validation that the quiet hours, the doubts, and the persistence… it all mattered.

TF: As you kick off 2026 with ‘Innerglow,’ does the track hint at the sonic direction fans can expect from your upcoming releases?
EDX: Absolutely. Expect deeper, more organic, and more honest, pure EDX signature. I’m stripping things back. Letting the soul of the track breathe. “Innerglow” is the first chapter of that story.

TF: After decades in the scene, what still excites you most about stepping into the studio and creating something new?
EDX: The possibility. That moment when a chord hits differently… it still feels like magic. It still feels like the first time. That never fades. That’s the innerglow!
