We had a chat with the rising tech house star about her recent stage takeover with her Temple House Music imprint at the Electric Garden Festival and lots more.

Determined to make an impact right from the get-go, ADRIANNA has already cemented her place as one of tech house music’s burgeoning names. After honing her craft at Mark Knight’s famous Toolroom academy, ADRIANNA channeled her learnings into her productions and delivered hits like ‘Take You,’ ‘Now You Know,’ and ‘Falling,’ to name a few.

On the DJing front, ADRIANNA has been equally prolific. In the last few years, she has played and held residencies across the UK, Ibiza, Cyprus, Mexico, India, Dubai, Qatar, and the Maldives, performing alongside Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Cloonee, Idris Elba, Patrick Topping, Solardo and Roger Sanchez.

After releasing music on other labels, ADRIANNA decided it was time to take creative control of her music and started Temple House Music. The label was launched with the idea of providing artists with a supportive and inclusive platform that will help them express their creativity. Now a rapidly growing community, the label’s aim is to cover the entire spectrum of house music to exemplify its name as the temple of all things house music.

ADRIANNA’s and Temple House Music’s watershed moment came when she took her label to host a full stage at the Electric Garden Festival last month in the UK. Joining ADRIANNA herself on a star-studded line-up were names like Franky Wah, Danny Howard, and Rebuke, among others.

After witnessing one of the biggest moments in her career, we were keen to know ADRIANNA’s and Temple House Music’s journey so far, so we sat down with the ultra-talented DJ and producer who first dove deep into the earliest days of her journey when she started making music. “I come from a family that was always associated with music. My father played the drums and there was music in the house all the time. I learned my craft through music before stumbling upon electronic music during my teenage years; and since then, I’ve been obsessed with this art form.”

ADRIANNA’s love for her vocals in her music is no secret anymore. A wide majority of her catalog has a heavy influence of dreamy vocals in them; ADRIANNA listed French DJ and producer Miss Kittin as her biggest sonic influence when she started making music. “Miss Kittin electro-edged productions intrigued me a lot, and of course, her vocals in her music along with her vocal-driven DJing style heavily influenced my music.”

ADRIANNA started her Temple House Music with the intention to create with freedom and provide her imprint as a stage for other talented artists to showcase their art. “I love Tech House and I also love the harder side of electronic music and I also love vocals, but the idea behind starting a label was to take initiative with my own music. There are some great labels pushing the sound I love, but for the style I wanted to cultivate, I thought it would be best if I started something of my own and gave impetus to the sound I want to champion.”

Temple House Music’s appearance at the Electric Garden Festival marked a significant moment for the label, where the stage featured Franky Wah, Danny Howard, Rebuke, ADRIANNA herself, and more. We were keen to know what the feeling was like after hosting Temple House Music’s stage. “The experience was unreal. We had put in a lot of effort into stage design and making sure the line-up was great. To witness heavyweights like Franky Wah, Danny Howard, and Rebuke while being able to express myself on stage was an experience like no other.”

We spoke about ADRIANNA’s penchant for dreamy and alluring vocals in her music, and our next question was about her releases on her Temple House Music imprint, where we get to hear her style of productions in abundance. “The first release, ‘Falling’, which came out early this year, did really well. I enjoyed making it, and I also saw it being played by DJs across the scene, and then to have people recognize the tune was a wonderful feeling.

The second single, ‘Got The Night’ spent some time on the Beatport charts as well. That’s the beauty of it, I guess. To be able to make the music I love and it being appreciated, it makes my purpose stronger.”

Closing our conversation, we asked ADRIANNA how she and Temple House Music intend to close the year and her plans for next year. “As a label, we’re starting small and doing everything meticulously, but our plans for next year is to notch up the heat and ensure that the sound that I love is being projected in the best way possible. We have a bunch of exciting releases lined up for next year and some events as well, and I am really looking forward to that.”
