Imphal experimental rock act RJH steamrolls toward their debut album ‘INTUITION II,’ delivering an eight-minute-long formidable progressive rock ballad ‘Mother Earth’s Intuition’ centered on unrest and dispute.

Conceived in 2023 during turbulent times in Manipur, RJH lyrically and sonically pulls no punches, crying out meticulously thought out lyrics – “spectators watch us fall,” “sympathy of a machine,” and a more positive sequence “I’ll try and bring every sense of hope left inside my blood and bones.” The tune sheds light on the themes and sound structures of RJH’s upcoming album, slated for a 2025 release.

Forged with progressive and post-rock themes, the instrumentation runs riot on this number, ironed out with eerie synths, thumping drum patterns, speedy guitar riffs, fierce bass clangs, and vibrant metal-esque keyboard patches. RJH powers through the passionate lyrics, delivering a rousing vocal performance mingled with hope and despair.

Via email exchange, RJH or Rindik James Hijam communicated, “The song could be taken as an outburst stemming from the effects of painful losses that brought forth an intense, melancholic aggression in expression, reflecting the hardships and distractions caused by the conflict.”

“Most of the lyrics are aligned with the self-centered politics, and diversion tactics of the mainland towards the once-independent nation of Kangleipak (present-day Manipur) which is gradually creating a generation filled with agony and resentment,” he added.
