Azteck, Pitbull and Gabry Ponte Celebrate ‘Pretty Woman (All Around The World)’

English DJ and record producer Azteck marked his 42nd birthday with the release of his new single, featuring “Mr. 305” Pitbull and dance music heavyweight Gabry Ponte.

Released on Virgin Records, the trio pulls from the archives and revamps a timeless classic, ‘Oh, Pretty Woman’ by Grammy Award winner Roy Orbison and Bill Dees, first released all the way back in 1964.

The legendary rock and roll number has undergone a slew of renditions and remixes since it hit the airwaves over sixty years ago, with takes from country singer Johnny Rivers and rock giants Van Halen, pop group The Overtones, and house producer Victor Biliac.

However, this beat hits differently, pulsing with a shade of nostalgia and injecting a bold, modern dancefloor energy. Keeping the signature riff intro intact, the track launches into a vibrant blend of upbeat dance motifs coated with Pitbull’s rapid-fire vocals. Gabry Ponte spices things up by swapping out the original guitar licks with shimmering electro textures, as Azteck anchors the mix with a feel-good, festival-ready soundscape.

Azteck called this release his ”biggest release ever” on social media, while also giving a nod to his high-profile collaborators.

Alongside Azteck’s birthday release, this production also marks a reunion for Gabry Ponte and Pitbull, who have paired up again after more than a decade. The two last crossed paths in 2012 on the scorching hot dance track ‘Beat on My Drum‘ with singer Sophia del Carmen.

The accompanying music video is a clever play on the use of AI, as it’s entirely created by artificial intelligence. It opens with a shot of a young child in his room, where the posters of Gabry Ponte, Pitbull, and Azteck deck the walls. His undone bed suggests he just woke up from a dream sparked by a brilliant idea for a song.

Inspired, he types into this AI-enabled PC the prompt, ”What would an Azteck, Pitbull, and Gabry Ponte track sound and look like if they flipped Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison?’ and voila, the response unfolds into the newly released track.
