Billed as the world’s biggest water festival,’ S2O is ready to make a splash in Australia next year for the very first time!

The festival will bring its wild energy to the Royal Queensland Golf Club in Brisbane on February 28, 2026. Started as the wettest music festival gathering in Bangkok, Thailand, the S2O Songkran Music Festival has expanded to many regions, including North America, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Enormous water cannons will assemble at the Royal Queensland Golf Club’s spectacular stage setup, complete with a laser show, pyrotechnics, and LEDs. From delectable street food and ice cold bars to exciting rides, S2O will be a fun-filled music event with performances from world-class acts. Tech house giant James Hype leads the charge for the debut edition of S2O Music Festival in Australia. Brazil’s mighty Alok and the multi-faceted English DJ/producer and singer-songwriter Becky Hill will also take on headlining duties at the festival.

S2O is set to welcome a staggering roster of highly skilled artists to showcase their talents at its Australian debut in 2026. The list includes Los Angeles-based Japanese-American techno DJ/producer Marie Vaunt and Will Sparks from Melbourne, Australia, a leading artist in Melbourne bounce, a subgenre of electronic dance music. UK-based house and tech house DJ/producer Tita Lau and Lance Savali will also be offering house music with hints of tech house. More artists are yet to be announced.

“We wanted to bring to Australia something that’s more than just another festival—it’s an experience. It’s water, music, community, energy and production all wrapped into one,” said S2O Australia partner, Simon Coyle, as per Rolling Stone.

The festival was brought to life a decade ago in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2015. Since then, its top-tier performances from international and hefty homegrown talents, and massive water fights have attracted audiences everywhere. The 10th anniversary edition of the festival’s flagship event in Bangkok saw high-profile dance music acts grace the S2O stage for Songkran Festival over the Thai New Year for the three-day extravaganza in April. From April 13 – April 15, 2025, S2O welcomed the likes of Marshmello, Timmy Trumpet, Alan Walker, Major Lazer, DJ Snake, and more.
