After an exquisite display last time out featuring electro house pair Infected Mushroom, AUM spoons out yet another showcase of polished techno vibrations this month. Commencing from 8 PM onwards, the rave is stationed at a yet-to-be-disclosed warehouse in Auckland, New Zealand, and commissions two first-time performances in the country.
Incoming is Portugal’s psy/techno hotshot Luís M and Frenchmen known to meddle in the realm of dark-psy/psychedelic trance, Slip Hypnotic. AUM’s very own Ferksta (John Paul Moss), a seasoned veteran known to ooze emotive progressive mixing with a psychedelic sprinkle, and psy/prog trance DJ Pied Piper Paul aka The Piper, along with techno, trance, and house act Vyxn round out the supporting artist card.
A linchpin of the psychedelic techno scene for well over a decade, Almada-born Luís M has carried his brand of dancefloor rhythms to venues and music festivals across Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and South America, even treating the masses to multiple three and five-hour sessions. His debut in Aotearoa is part of a massive 2024 Summer Tour with gigs chalked in for Australia as well.
Also hauling in eclectic psychedelic sounds is Zenon Records’ Slip Hypnotic, currently penciled in for six shows across AUNZ. According to his bio on the Zenon Records website, “He creates heavy music influenced by colorful melodies and rich harmonies, spiced with acoustic instruments, minimal and wonky sounds,” so attendees can anticipate a flavorful session.
Whether it’s a dark warehouse, deep dungeons, intimate venues, woodlands, or music festivals, Auckland-based Vyxn, who has energized mainstages at the AUM NYE and Dimenson festival, always provides a superb display laced with a mix of techno, trance, and house music.
