A Little Sound Teams Up With Sugababes for a Mammoth Collaboration

‘Situation’ with the iconic pop group Sugababes is out on the legendary Ministry of Sound.

‘Situation’ with the iconic pop group Sugababes is out on the legendary Ministry of Sound.

Taking one of the most recognizable voices of drum & bass to over 25 festivals this summer, which includes the much-talked-about performances at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Luton, Arcadia Glastonbury and the brand new Chevron stage at Reading & Leeds, A Little Sound is having yet another monumental year.

Having initially made a name for herself through collaborations with drum & bass legends like Friction, Kanine & Technimatic and establishing a hectic touring schedule performing at countless festivals worldwide, A Little Sound has rapidly emerged as one of the UK’s most exciting rising stars in dance music.

She is now taking things to the next level, collaborating with the iconic Sugababes on their next single, ‘Situation.’ A fresh spin on their legendary hit ‘Overload;’ It started as an idea she developed in a session with Billen Ted & Katy Tiz, which she began playing in her DJ sets. When Sugababes heard the record, they loved it so much that they gave it their blessing and went back into the studio to record new parts, resulting in a fresh take on the pop classic.

Sugababes are one of the most successful and critically acclaimed British girl bands of the 21st century.  Formed in 1998, they have scored six Number One singles, millions of global sales, and multiple multi-platinum albums. Their recent comeback – as the original line-up of Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy – was solidified with their now legendary 2022 Glastonbury performance

Speaking about the single, A Little Sound said, “I’ve always been a massive fan of Overload by Sugababes, so when Billen Ted, Katy Tiz & I talked about flipping it for 2024, I was super up for it! The idea turned out really wicked, so I started playing it out in my sets and somehow the girls managed to hear it! Before I knew it, the next week we were all in the studio recording their parts and it felt so surreal to be working alongside them. It’s one of those pinch me moments where I realise how lucky I am to be doing what I’m doing.”

Sugababes added, “We heard A Little Sounds demo reworking of Overload a while ago, and loved the energy of it, so decided to get in the studio with her and producers Billen Ted, and see if we could create something special together.   The original has a really special place in all our hearts, so it’s exciting to see ‘Situation’ coming out, and even better that its with another female musician!’”

This autumn, A Little Sound is featured on the Listen Out tour, the biggest festival run across Australia & New Zealand, before embarking on her debut UK headline tour across five cities, with her London date at Omeara selling out in under 24 hours. Standing just 5 feet 2 inches tall, she possesses towering ambition, becoming a superstar in the drum & bass scene with her captivating vocal hooks and electrifying DJ performances.
