Trailblazing Women of Dance Music In 2025

Women are making big moves in electronic music. From producing dancefloor bangers, performing at massive festival stages, and dominating charts to collecting coveted award nominations, women in electronic music are making waves, shaping the scene, and taking the genre to new heights. We take a look at some DJs and producers whose achievements will not only inspire budding artists and women everywhere but also shape the future of electronic music.

Jazzy

Dublin-born Jazzy’s rise in electronic music is noteworthy. Her debut single, ‘Giving Me,’ released in May 2023, skyrocketed to the highest spot on the Official Irish Singles Chart, making her the first woman in fourteen years to reach number one. Soon, she started making major festival debuts like Glastonbury and performing on the Tomorrowland main stage, Creamfields, Reading, Leeds, Brunch Electronik Berlin, and AVA Festival in Berlin. The Irish DJ, singer and songwriter was also nominated for Song of the Year at the BRIT Awards 2025 for the track ‘Somedays’ alongside Sonny Fodera and D.O.D. SoundCloud, one of the most renowned streaming services on the planet, revealed that Jazzy is the most-streamed female electronic music artist of the year on the platform. 

“Since being named one of our Ascending artists in 2023, the consistency of her hit releases and fan engagement has only amplified that growth. Including collaborative tracks, Jazzy is now the most listened to female electronic artist worldwide on SoundCloud in 2025,” Denys Wilcox, SoundCloud’s senior label relations UK, told MusicWeek. Following the release of her collaborative track ‘Can’t Deny It’ with Berlin-based Irish producer Spriitzz, Jazzy is set to get behind the decks at gigs in Belfast, London, and Leeds next month as part of her Gewah Selects Tour: UK.

PinkPantheress

PinkPantheress initially gained traction for tracks that blended electronic music genres like drum & bass, UKG, and jungle with pop, R&B, and other genres. She gained immense success with her track ‘Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2’ featuring Ice Spice, which peaked at number 3 on Billboard Hot 100. The British singer-songwriter and producer, who made her killer Glastonbury debut this year, received Grammy and Mercury Prize nominations for her critically acclaimed mixtape ‘Fancy That.’ Victoria Beverley Walker AKA PinkPantheress bagged Grammy nominations for her hit track ‘Illegal’ for Best Dance Pop Recording and a Best Dance/Electronic Album nod for ‘Fancy That.’ She’s also confirmed to take the Coachella stage next year.

Charlotte de Witte

As techno queen Charlotte de Witte takes charge of clubs, venues, and festival stages, she’s quickly taking over the hearts of electronic music fans everywhere. Her skill behind the decks has taken her far and wide for headlining sets and appearances. Not unfamiliar with making history, the Belgium-born dance music star became the first artist to open and close the main stage at Tomorrowland on July 19, 2025. In 2022, Charlotte became the first woman and techno artist to close the Tomorrowland Mainstage.

BLOND:ISH

Although female artists are headlining music festivals and shows, there’s still a long way to go in representing the talents of women even close to equally across line-ups and residencies. In its over five-decade history, BLOND:ISH became the first-ever female headlining resident DJ at Ibiza’s sought-after club Pacha in 2025. The Canadian DJ/producer took charge of Pacha Ibiza for eleven weeks and brought her Abracadabra party to the White Isle on Wednesdays from May 21 through July 30. “I’ve been going to Ibiza since I was 17 so you can imagine that I’ve been dreaming about a residency, and what I can bring to the island that’s unique,” shared BLOND:ISH as per EDM.com.

Sara Landry

In an era of short-form content and short attention spans, Sara Landry has compelled us to think again about “locking in” – focus, determination, and passion. The hard techno powerhouse showcased her skills in offering hair-raising sets before partygoers for almost eight hours, breaking the record for the longest DJ set recorded at Club Space Miami. Sara shared clips of her set on Instagram, writing, “my favorite set I’ve ever played” in the caption.
