Dimension Festival to Mark a Decade of Psychedelic Bliss

New Zealand’s boutique psychedelic trance gathering, Dimension Festival, sets the stage for its milestone tenth edition next year in Nukutawhiti, North Island.

For this landmark chapter, the team behind the festival brings together over 100 artists across three stages to electrify the sound systems with enchanting pulses of psytrance, progressive, psytech, techno, dub, bass, world music, and more!

Dimension Festival’s four-day extravaganza kicks off January 30 and runs through February 2, with an emphasis on immersive music, transformative art, and nurturing conscious community.

Spotlighting the music card, global psytrance heavyweights Ace Ventura and AJJA make their Aotearoa and Dimension Festival debuts with three-hour sets each. Kiwi brothers Barton and Hayden Strom, aka ANTIX, also top the bill with their sublime melange of trance, progressive house, and minimal techno. Acts Chromatone, Emok, Greenwolve, Jumpstreet, duo Pitch Black, MEKKANIKKA, Tom Baker, and Paddy Carroll’s Unknown Concept project also sit atop the roster.

Skimming through the stages, Astral Arena’s psytrance and psytech zone unleashes DJ Akasha, ICU, Megapixel, Flow Theory, Ashwynz, Biggins, Barfly, Vivaek, SHARKRA, and more. Nova Grove’s spread of psytech, techno, dub, and bass heats up with Ellaluna, Donna-Marie, 4th Shaman, Aztoria, KOZY, Ouhana, Neurai, The Piper, Weka Tek, and the legendary Paige Julia. Cosmic Cove arena, home to psydub, psybass, world, and downtempo music, comes alive with VLVT, trio Toroa, cross-cultural collective Silk Road Melodies, wind instrumentalist Jack Willow, and guitar-and-bass pair MoJo leading the charge.

Towering art installations, immersive interactive experiences, fire and flow performers, and stunning visuals featuring vibrant projection mapping, flashing lasers, hypnotic fractal animations, and glowing UV light will come alive across the venue.

Beyond the dance floor and mesmerizing artworks, Dimension festival keeps the experience eco-friendly with thoughtful amenities and eco-conscious practices. They include free drinking water, hot showers, and a marketplace offering local produce alongside a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The promoters champion a No Leave Trace approach, encouraging attendees to pack smart, use biodegradable glitter and glam items, and bring their own cups, water bottles, straws, and other essentials. Trash bags will also be provided at the campsite.
