A new game from IO Interactive based on the reimagined origin story of the iconic James Bond is scheduled to arrive later this month. The gripping video game casts Dimitri Vegas and Chase & Status in ‘007: First Light.’ Chase & Status will appear behind the decks in a club sequence, taking the action to the next level with one of their remixes.
A blog post on IO Interactive’s website reveals how the renowned drum & bass duo will be introduced in the game, as “their arrival lands in the middle of a packed club sequence, where Bond will have to navigate through lights, crowds, and a sound system pushing one of the duo’s remixes at full volume. It’s a modern pop-culture touchstone that keeps Bond in step with the world around him.”
Meanwhile, Dimitri Vegas was recruited to produce an exclusive James Bond remix for the game. The Belgian DJ has also played the remix at Tomorrowland. His role in ‘007: First Light’ takes things one step further as players will get the opportunity to interact with his character.
“So excited to be joining the cast of the upcoming #007firstlight game and be part of the James Bond universe. Can’t wait for you all to experience this epic origin story from IO Interactive… owww and of course I had to surprise the #tomorrowland winter crowd with the exclusive #jamesbond remix I did for the videogame,” Vegas wrote in a post shared on his social media.
Following artists like Travis Scott, Snoop Dogg, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Phil Collins, and more making cameos in video games, it’s now time for Chase & Status and Dimitri Vegas to join big names who have reached a wider audience with their appearances as in-game characters.
