GRiZ Brings In Flowdan for New Single, ‘Coast 2 Coast’

Griz’s latest mood-changing electronic concoction arrives on the back of May’s ‘Chaos Theory,’ chopped up with riddim and dubstep DJ/producer Wooli.
Following the release of ‘Coast 2 Coast,’ Griz posted on social media that he was “stoked” with the track’s outcome and described having Flowdan’s gravelly vocals on it as a “dream come true.” “Flowdan’s vocals just fit the song so perfectly,” he declared before adding, “Over a year later, the saga of ‘Coast 2 Coast’ finally lands in your hands. This song is really special to me. I hope you love it!!”
Flowdan’s sampled vocals from Sammy Virji’s ‘Shellaverse‘ (2023) served as the footing for what was initially believed to be merely a mixtape piece. The song swiftly gained popularity on the internet, encouraging Griz to get in touch with Flowdan directly to formalize the collaborative effort. For the official release, Flowdan marched on and recorded a completely new topline.
‘Coast 2 Coast’ pipes Flowdan’s distinctive, high-impact bars with GRiZ’s futuristic bass production. It opens on an electro-ambient note and scurries into Flowdan’s commanding voice, repeating, “Now it’s all green like go.” The ensuing composition is deliciously soaked with a range of textures noted by roaring bass wobbles, screeching dubstep, glitch hop squeezes, and future funk motifs.
From start to finish, the production skillfully combines a gritty, grimy attitude with a sound design suited for festivals and club floors alike.
