Axel Boman Launches Blurry With New Album, ‘Tell It To The Mountain’

The Swedish producer has already shared the first track from the collaborative album with Superpitcher.

Swedish producer and DJ Axel Boman is entering a new chapter with the launch of his own label, Blurry. It’s an announcement that arrives alongside the release of his new album, ‘Tell It To The Mountain.’ The album is a collaborative project between Boman and acclaimed German producer Superpitcher, and it’s a partnership that will bring together two artists with a shared appreciation for captivating grooves, emotional melodies and electronic music that exists somewhere between the dancefloor and the surreal.

For Boman, the inception of Blurry represents an opportunity to step outside the expectations that can come with running a label and create a space where experimentation takes priority. Talking about the label’s debut, Boman said, “I’ve dreamed of having a platform where I can experiment with art and music for a while now, and this album feels like the perfect project to launch it with.”

Blurry is envisioned as more than just another home for electronic music. Swiss artist and long-time Boman collaborator Laurenz Brunner has been enlisted for the label’s creative direction, with the aim of creating a visual identity that is just as uninhibited as the music. Together, the pair intend to build a platform that always finds room for unusual ideas, experimentation and projects that don’t necessarily fit neatly into existing categories.

The album also provides an ideal introduction to what Blurry hopes to represent. Released on August 11, ‘True Crime’ gives us a glimpse into what’s coming, and from a creative lens, the track leans into hazy textures and gently evolving rhythms that feel more immersive than functional. There is a looseness to the project that reflects the circumstances in which it was conceived, with the duo allowing ideas to breathe rather than forcing them into conventional structures.

The foundation for ‘Tell It To The Mountain‘ was laid down during a transformative three-day trek to Sweden’s remote Helags Glacier. Pushing their mental and physical boundaries to the absolute limit, Boman and Superpitcher emerged from the grueling hike in a singular headspace, where sheer physical exhaustion balanced perfectly with overwhelming creative inspiration. Removed from the routines and distractions of everyday life, the experience created an environment where instinct began to take over, and the music that followed arrived with a sense of its own momentum.

That collaborative effort now brings together two distinct music identities of European electronic music creating an album shaped by atmosphere, melody and instinct, with the duo exploring the more psychedelic and emotionally open side of electronic music.

The full release of Tell It To The Mountain is slated to be out on all digital platforms and on 2×12” vinyl on September 25.
