TF Daily Drop: Good Thing Remix by 4am Kru & SHANTÉH

Today’s pick is Good Thing Remix by 4am Kru & SHANTÉH. Listen now!

Good Thing Remix by 4am Kru & SHANTÉH is a hot number! Starting off with mild strings and drum work, this remix progressively becomes a groovy blend of reggae breaks. Then with a dulcet piano harmony, the classic jungle sound kicks in, and we are taken into the abyss. As the “Kru” says, this one is a perfect 4 AM sunset martini stirrer. SHANTÉH’s voice, as always, does an outstanding job of recalling the roots of reggae and soul music.

4am Kru, the newly formed jungle crew from London, is setting the pace and flourishing in the scene with back-to-back releases. Boasting tracks like ‘High Time’, ‘Stay Puffed’, ‘Good Time’, and more, they’ve stayed true to their moniker, while establishing themselves well. 4am Kru is focused on making raw and original tunes, and have set the sail for bringing back the golden era of breaks with their imprint, Embrace The Real Records. 4am Kru  first-ever performance debuted on Midnight Bass, the weekly initiators of Drum & Bass music in Scotland.

As for SHANTÉH, the songwriter and producer from South London is not new to the music industry. Being of Jamaican heritage, she has grown up listening to a lot of reggae, lovers rock, and jungle, which has in-turn shaped her sound. Her vocals have been heard on recordings by Emeli Sandé, Jahméne Douglas, and Ann Nesby, as well as when she supported Lukas Graham on his Danish tour in 2018. When it comes to her writing and vocal arrangements, she also displays influences from gospel, soul, hiphop, and R&B.

With SHANTÉH geared to drop a glut of new music and collaborate with even more artists, the world is about to get a little bit bigger.
