Music is incredibly important if you are planning to spend Valentine’s day with your date, and the power of a playlist with the most appropriate songs for Valentine’s Day can never be underestimated. Get it right and you have another date beyond February 14; get it wrong and you may have killed your date forever.
There are millions of songs to pick that range from heartfelt ballads to fun singalongs, which make you feel all warm and fuzzy. But what if your date for Valentine’s day is far from what you expected and turns out to be a Drum & Bass head?
Don’t worry, because we’re putting together a list of songs that will definitely get your date going if your Valentine likes to stomp on the pulsating beats of Drum & Bass.
HYBRID MINDS – TOUCH (FT. TIFFANI JUNO)
‘Touch’ by Hybrid Minds is one of the biggest singalong tracks in recent Drum & Bass history, and naturally, it is also the best song that you could play to your Valentine when you are about to confess your feelings properly. They say yes and you can squeal the track’s iconic ‘No shadow, darkness I am falling no more, I never felt like this before’ together. Practice, practice, and practice.
IVY LAB & HYDRO FEAT. FRANK CARTER III & LUCY ANNIKA – MAKE IT CLEAR
Flavor, energy and emotion. This tune has the perfect mix of feelings, and that distinctive flair you need in your Valentine’s Date playlist. If you have waited long enough to tell your Valentine how you feel about them, this tune is probably the best to play when you ‘Make It Clear’.
DIMENSION – LOVE TO ME
‘I got what you need. What you’re looking for, Give your love to me, Love to me, Let me take control’ What else do you need to confess your feelings? 10/10 times, your Valentine will approve of your selection and you both can stomp your feet to this banger from Dimension.
LSB FT TYLER DALEY & DRS – MISSING YOU
This one takes the gloomy with its poignant vocals. However, ‘Missing You’, in our opinion, is the perfect song if your Valentine is miles away and you cannot find a way to come together to feel the warmth of Valentine’s Day. ‘Take me in your arms and have me believe it’s gonna last forever’ would probably make the yearning sweeter than ever when you do happen to meet your significant other.
WILKINSON – ALL FOR YOU FT. KAREN HARDING
If you’ve heard Wilkinson’s music before, you’d know that he has mastered the art of delivering emotional piledrivers like these. ‘All For You’ is a song that is a call from an individual that is seeking someone’s love after going through a previous heartbreak. Melancholic yet uplifting; it’s probably the recipe you need if your call to the one you love rings the same bell.
NETSKY & HYBRID MINDS – LET ME HOLD YOU
‘When the weight of the world’s on your shoulders. I will hold ya, I will hold you. So, let me hold you’ – If the one you love isn’t convinced after you slam this track, they probably aren’t the one for you. There are very few Drum & Bass tracks that come close to the emotional depth of this track.
WILKINSON – SWEET LIES FT. KAREN HARDING
Wilkinson again and there’s a reason for it. It’s probably the best bittersweet track that exists in Drum & Bass at the moment. ‘Sweet Lies’ is a track that brings out every emotion that you feel for the person you love but know that they aren’t the one, yet you don’t want to let go of their love. ‘I’m not giving up your love, As long as there’s sweet lies’.
BCEE – LOST & FOUND (HYBRID MINDS REMIX)
Another song that has the potential to seal it for you. Has your Valentine picked you up during your darkest times? And now you want to let them know how you feel? This track is IT. ‘When there was nowhere to go, Yes you loved me, And now everything has changed’. What else do you need to get your loved one fuzzy?
ALIX PEREZ & SPECTRASOUL – UNDONE (FT. DRS)
From a Drum & Bass perspective, this trio is the peak of emotional Drum & Bass. The intense lyricism of this tune makes it special if you are looking to make up for something that you haven’t done right with the one you love. Play this and you probably won’t have your love and your effort ‘Undone’.
FRED V & GRAFIX – ULTRAVIOLET
“I couldn’t see before, but now I see it all, You bring my heart to life again”. One of the most powerful tracks in Drum & Bass. Alright, no more fillers. Trust us, just play it.
That’s it for our Drum & Bass Valentine’s Day playlist, but tell us if we missed any of your favorites!
Happy Valentine’s Day to the lovers, the singles, and everyone in between. We hope this music made your day just a little more special!
