Live music space BIG FAN in Auckland celebrates its first birthday next month. The venue recently launched BIG FAN LIVE, an initiative with the aim to “Break down barriers in accessing live music venues.” BIG FAN offers its “venue and cover associated costs, for free, with all ticket sales going directly to the acts or event organisers. It’s open to people of all ages, at all skill levels, from across Aotearoa,” they announced on Instagram. There will be 18 opportunities until October 2024 as part of BIG FAN LIVE. The first set of BIG FAN LIVE shows will be held on October 21, November 23, and December 16. Freddy Reynold is set to kick off the BIG FAN LIVE shows this weekend.
