James French’s captivating vocals, complete with the meticulously crafted production skills from the German duo Cosmic Gate, make for an emotion-packed single. ‘Take Me’ immediately builds an ethereal soundscape with delicate keys and James’ emphatic crooning, steadily transgressing into a mellow club banger with its thumping beats and striking chorus. Cosmic Gate are known to push the limits when it comes to their production, and they certainly did not disappoint with ‘Take Me.’
Made up of Claus Terhoeven and Stefan Bossems, Cosmic Gate are among Germany’s finest electronic music acts. They’ve raked in millions of streams on Spotify and continue to offer dancefloor anthems. Prior to ‘Take Me,’ they’ve rolled out ‘Brave’ with English singer Christian Burns, ‘Trifecta’ with Arnej, and ‘Only You’ with UK-based singer-songwriter and musician Susie Ledge this year.
They’ve delivered hypnotic and high-energy sets at sought-after venues and festivals, including the Ministry of Sound in London (where they also premiered their latest offering, ‘Take Me’), MARQUEE Singapore, and South Africa’s H2O Party. The German DJ/producer duo have graced Tomorrowland, La Solar Festival, Brazil’s Ame Laroc Festival, TRANSMISSION Festival, and Parookaville. Cosmic Gate are due for an appearance at EDC Orlando, Sunburn Festival (India), and the debut edition of EDC Thailand next year in Phuket.
Cosmic Gate and James French’s debut collaboration compliments the strengths of either artist, with James’ emotive vocals matching the duo’s production style on ‘Take Me’ immaculately. French has already established himself as an artist to watch out for with his Grammy nomination. He has featured on Kx5’s (collaborative project by deadmau5 and Kaskade) ‘Avalanche’ for their eponymous debut album, ‘KX5.’
