London’s Victoria Park is getting ready to host a new festival called Lido in 2025.
Lido will be a two-day event scheduled to take place at Victoria Park, boasting a whopping 86.18 hectares of space. This festival will “showcase the most current headliners and work closely with them to curate the line-ups, reflecting their own musical passions, with a strong focus on emerging artists,” as per NME.
In addition to music, it will also hold art, culture, and wellness activities for attendees to enjoy. The performers at the brand-new festival will soon be revealed. Lido will be joining forces with East London Arts and Music to provide not only performance opportunities but also a wonderful chance to get a deeper look into the music business, technology, and festival production.
Run by AEG Presents, Lido aims to recruit local staff. It will involve local suppliers as well and help to further improve spending on local food, accommodation, and more. The festival is set to execute and begin sustainable policies. They would aim to focus on power supply, food, and waste management.
“Lido Festival allows us to push our ambitions further in working with young people within the industry and those who aspire to be. Most excitingly, this centres about a new generation of artists, whether they’re headlining or performing for the first time,” says the CEO of European Festivals at AEG – Jim King, as per Mixmag.
King added: “The vision of supporting the artists’ journey further develops as we program each day directly with the headliner. This delivers a show that fans know has the artists’ musical soul embedded throughout. This is one of the most exciting aspects of Lido Festival, knowing that everyone on the bill means something to the headliner closing out the show.”
Update: Lido has announced the festival’s first line-up via social media! Jamie xx is set to headline the Lido festival next year with Barcelona-based producer Arca, British singer-songwriter and musician Sampha, London’s very own Romy, and Panda Bear joining him on the line-up. The festival is also set to host DJ Harvey, rapper and producer John Glacier, DJ Gigola, Shy One, UK Garage musician Wookie, and livwutang.
