Two years after an immaculate showdown in Auckland, Red Rum Touring once again wheels in one of Belgium’s hottest DnB exports, Marcel Matheussen aka PRIMATE, for a drum & bass shindig on March 7, 2025. Tickets to PRIMATE’s show in Auckland are available on Ticket Fairy.
The jump-up frontrunner takes his production to party haunt Darby Street Station in Auckland on March 7, surrounded by local acts duo A.Street and KENZO on support. Latching on to this DnB party is Justin Tsoi aka Ciko, one of the most prominent names on the Kiwi electronic music circuit known for his rapid tempo, refined mixing skills, and dance floor rattling intensity.
In a tidy callback, Ciko and Kenzo had also featured on the card in 2023 during PRIMATE’s earlier visit to the country.
PRIMATE announced his return to Kiwi and Aussie terrain in mid-January, pulling up to venues in Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Wellington, Auckland, and Christchurch. While talking about his seven-stop setup, the artist has assured fans and attendees of “new dubs, bigger production, a bigger show, and more energy” via social media.
Discussing advice he would have given himself years ago with drum & bass educators Noise Masters, PRIMATE said, “The biggest tip I would have given myself a couple of years ago is to just send it (mixes) to the bigger artist, cause I never did it and then one day I just said, ‘What if I sent my music to every artist I know and maybe send it to thirty people, maybe three people will respond and they will play it,’ from there it just goes.”
PRIMATE also jets off on tour on the back of featuring on NLW’s bass-fueled release, ‘Air Max.’
