EXIT Festival Founder Is Planning First-Ever Multi-Day Festival at Pyramid of Giza

EXIT Festival founder Dusan Kovacevic may be bringing its first-ever multi-day music festival to the Great Pyramids of Giza.

One of the eight wonders of the world – The Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt – has hosted a bunch of unforgettable sets from renowned acts of the electronic music realm. Now, it might even see a multi-day music festival from none other than the EXIT festival founder, Dusan Kovacevic. EXIT Festival is among the top electronic music festivals on the planet, even securing a number of awards and nominations. Unfortunately, this year EXIT festival saw its final edition in Serbia, citing a lack of funding and political pressure due to their public support of the student protests.

“This is the hardest decision in our 25-year history, but we believe that freedom has no price. With this act, we are defending not only EXIT, but the fundamental right to free expression for all cultural actors around the world. We invite them to stand with us in this fight,” stated Dusan Kovacevic. EXIT Festival has welcomed over 200,000 revelers to its music festival, and its 2025 edition marked the mega-music event’s 25th anniversary. The final edition saw performances from Eric Prydz, Tiësto, Boris Brejcha, and more at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia.

The brand-new festival, which will be organized in tandem with Venture Lifestyle, according to IQ Magazine, may take place in Egypt in October 2026 under a new name. “When the news broke out that EXIT was leaving Serbia, we got a lot of invitations from all over, from Malta to India,” said Kovacevic. “When we do new festivals, we always do a new brand that is tailored for the destination. EXIT isn’t Coca-Cola, it can’t be replicated. It’s tied to the Petrovaradin Fortress, which is seen as one of the most spectacular festival venues in the world.”

“We feel that the pyramids are so symbolic that this event will have everything that EXIT stands for,” he says. “There is a lot of darkness everywhere in the world, but many people see the pyramids as pillars of light, so we will be making a strong message with that.”

Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox and Aly & Fila have already displayed their skills at the largest ancient pyramid. Now, this new festival will bring in the heat to this ancient monument for a new beginning. The festival’s name, line-up, and further information are yet to be announced.
