Here’s a round-up of standout singles and EPs from the past month you need on your must-play dance music collection.
There’s no such thing as just enough music, especially when it comes to dance music. The scene moves at a relentless pace, with new releases dropping almost every day, and it can feel like you’re constantly being showered with a fresh surge of sounds faster than you can possibly absorb them. That’s where we step in, making your listening journey smoother by curating selections that cut through the noise and bring you the very best of what’s been circulating lately.
To help you stay in the loop, we’ve rounded up some of the standout releases from the past four weeks that have been lighting up the house and techno sphere. These tracks range from deep, atmospheric cuts perfect for a late-night session to pumping, peak-time weapons designed to push crowds into overdrive.
Nora En Pure – ‘Teahupoo’ [Enormous Tunes]
Starting with Purified Records head honcho, Nora En Pure’s release on Zurich-based progressive house label Enormous Tunes. Named after the legendary surf break off the south-eastern coast of Tahiti in French Polynesia, ‘Teahupoo’ embodies the island’s natural beauty and tranquil energy, while carrying the emotive drive that has made her one of the most distinctive voices in melodic and organic house.
Infused with positivity and warmth, ‘Teahupoo’ is uplifting and immersive – a track that radiates summer while retaining the subtle intensity that runs through all of Nora’s productions.
Simina Grigoriu – ‘Precision’ EP [OFF Recordings]
Next up is Berlin-based techno architect Simina Grigoriu’s return to OFF Recordings for the two-track ‘Precision’ EP. It is another chapter in Simina’s evolving story; a release that not only highlights her technical finesse but also her vision for what modern techno can be. The title track ‘Precision’ asserts itself from the first beat, a taut rhythm that twists and turns with meticulous intent, whereas ‘Chiron Complex,’ beneath its rolling groove and muscular low-end, is no less direct, but takes a different path to intensity.
Huminal & Mitch de Klein – ‘Mirage’ EP / Lexer – ‘The Edge Of Everything’ [Purified Recordings]
We have two gorgeous releases from the Purified Records clan coming in next, from the Dutch pairing Huminal & Mitch de Klein’s 2-track EP and German DJ and producer Lexer’s ‘The Edge Of Everything.’ With an impressive catalog of forward-thinking productions to his name, Dutch artist Huminal joins forces with fellow countryman Mitch de Klein for the captivating ‘Mirage’ EP, marking Mitch’s debut on Purified Records. After a summer filled with standout performances across festivals and shows, the duo channel their creative momentum into this release.
Renowned for infusing his music and performances with genuine soul and emotion, Lexer has delivered a perfect balance between depth and dynamic energy on ‘The Edge Of Everything,’ which showcases his ability to craft productions that hold you in their grip from the very first beat until the last.
Mindslash – ‘Nightshift’ EP [Set About]
Bulgarian talent Mindslash delivers a statement of intent with his debut on Set About, presenting ‘Nightshift’ – a two-track release that distills raw techno power into pure, late-night energy. Both a reflection of his relentless drive and a showcase of his evolving artistry, this EP captures the duality of his sound: hypnotic force and emotional depth, seamlessly interwoven.
Opening with the title track ‘Nightshift,’ Mindslash dives straight into the darker corners of the dancefloor, and the flip side, ‘Embrace’ reveals another facet of his sonic identity with immersive melodic flourishes, striking a balance between rawness and reflection.
SHADED – ‘F U 2’ [Trick]
SHADED continues to lead from the front in the tech house world, known for his driving, psychedelic grooves and funk-inspired textures. Formerly one-half of SHDWPLAY, his solo trajectory has taken him to new heights with killer cuts on Dirtybird, Experts Only, Turbo, and Hot Creations, while earning key support from tastemakers like Loco Dice and The Martinez Brothers.
After kicking off 2025 with hits like ‘Feel The Heat’ and ‘Oscillate,’ SHADED now returns to Patrick Topping’s Trick label for round four with ‘F U 2,’ a high-octane tech house jam that echoes early greats like Mike Dunn – especially in the dark monologue that kicks out at the world.
