Best Drum & Bass Labels of 2025

As we close out the year, we’ve revisited the drum & bass music landscape and put together a list of some labels that left the boldest mark in 2025.

For over three decades, drum & bass labels have functioned as two of the genre’s most vital cogs, serving as the foundational and continual drivers of its evolution. These imprints fulfilled a role far beyond mere distribution; these labels have consistently done the heavy lifting through every major shift that the scene needed and expertly steered through phases of reinvention, innovation, and cultural reset when it mattered most.

That phase of reinvention we spoke about just now is happening as we speak. What we’re witnessing is a fascinating period where labels are adapting to new production realities and fragmented listener attention, but they are achieving this on their own, uncompromisingly innovative terms. The outcome of this period has been a remarkably diverse and future-facing wave of drum & bass that is coming through with a vast, diverse, and exceptionally high-quality crate of fresh sounds.

Ranging from hypnotic, minimalist rollers that focus on texture and groove to intricate, maximalist sound design that pushes technical boundaries and vibrant, emotional vocal-led tracks that have successfully crossed into mainstream appeal, the output is more varied than ever.

So, we took a deep dive through the last twelve months and mapped out the labels that have had consistent release schedules without compromising on quality, while making sure that the drum & bass sound remains one of the most exciting and dynamic in electronic music.

CRITICAL MUSIC

This is a label that simply never misses the mark. They go screechy, they go heavy, and they go deep; and somehow, despite catering to such a wide sonic framework, they keep things fresh every single time. The ability to shapeshift without losing identity, to experiment without sounding experimental for the sake of it. Whether it’s about spotlighting breakthrough artists or championing seasoned innovators, the quality control stays sky-high.

You could very much say that Critical Music and their catalog have become a dependable compass for where the sound is right now.

1985 MUSIC

Another label that’s been responsible for shaping the sound for the past few years. If you trace the rise of the deep, liquid-leaning, and subtly technical style of drum & bass, you’ll almost always find them at the center of it. With releases like Visages’ stunning debut album ‘Amor Fati,’ Alix Perez’s ‘Lost Connection,’ and Napes’ ‘Shooters Hill EP,’ 1985 Music have nurtured a lane where mood, texture, and precision matter just as much as soundsystem impact.

In doing so, they’ve turned themselves into genuine trendsetters of the genre, influencing producers across the spectrum and redefining what the cutting edge of drum & bass looks like in the mid-2020s.

STANDOUT RELEASE: Visages – ‘Amor Fati’ LP

FOUR CORNERS MUSIC

The name ‘Four Corners Music’ suggests breadth and four corners of sound, and that’s exactly what they’ve done this year. Right from rolling liquid cuts and raw jump-ups to more introspective, emotive rhythms, the label led by Melinki has explored every fathomable angle drum & bass can cover.

This year, Four Corners Music dropped a string of standout releases like Tweakz’s ‘Your Eyes’ EP, the ‘Cutting Edge’ EP from DPR that leaned into sharper rhythms, and Skuff’s ‘Fresh Cuts’ EP that gave us a gorgeous liquid ride, exemplifying their wide sonic reach.

FLEXOUT AUDIO

Among the many standout moves Flexout Audio made this year, the crowning moment for the label came when they secured drum & bass pioneer TeeBee’s solo LP, ‘The Cosmic Carnival.’ The album perfectly captured TeeBee’s penchant for delivering intense, cinematic journeys that we know him for, which aligned perfectly with Flexout’s signature deep and minimal aesthetic, marking it as the label’s definitive 2025 highlight.

Beyond individual releases, Flexout also struck an impressive balance through its Reimagined series by seamlessly bridging heavyweight, club-ready material with more cerebral, headphone-focused drum & bass explorations. Contributions from Amoss, Umbra, Objectiv, Minor Forms and Para added to the label’s ethos of championing artists who thrive in the deeper end of the spectrum, reinforcing Flexout’s reputation as a tastemaker for drum & bass that’s as emotionally resonant as it is functionally devastating.

OVERVIEW MUSIC

Overview Music is a label that operates with a relentless momentum and one that simply doesn’t have the meaning of stop’ in its dictionary. With a genre that is as fiercely and technically refined as drum & bass, Overview has mastered the difficult art of consistent innovation. What’s most impressive is how they manage to push the sound forward without ever diluting their core ethos of championing the dark, minimal, weighty ends of drum & bass.

As we head into 2026, Overview Music’s command over the minimal and technical spectrum of drum and bass has reached a definitive peak. 2025 saw a staggering display of sonic diversity from the label, ranging from heavyweights like Monrroe, Particle, and Emperor to the essential contributions from label mainstays like Wingz, Rizzle, and YAANO, among many others. By championing this intersection of veteran influence and fresh talent, Overview Music has managed to achieve its unmistakable sound and become a quintessential pillar of the scene.

STANDOUT RELEASE: ‘Epitome II’ feat. Particle, Rockwell, En:vy and more.

YAMATAI RECORDS

What started in 2021 as an independent drum & bass imprint dedicated to championing emerging talent has now become one of the most exciting underground forces of the drum & bass underground. Much like the trajectory of Overview Music, Yamatai Records has been a vital incubator for the next generation of drum & bass.

Yamatai’s release schedule in 2025 was both prolific as well as purposeful, with releases from Dub Ten’s ‘Backstabbed’ EP, Fearful and Amoss’s two-track belter, while Manikin and Invadhertz added that silky and flowy touch to Yamatai’s bold and vibrant releases this year. With the planned return of their Foundations project and a continued focus on experimental and MC-led projects, Yamatai is entering 2026 with a clear goal of solidifying their position as the scene’s most reliable tastemakers for next-gen drum & bass talent.

STANDOUT RELEASE: Dub Ten, Telm & Wilson, Re:growth, Freddy B – ‘Backstabbed’ EP

THE NORTH QUARTER

The North Quarter’s boss, Lenzman, has had a history of exuding a sense of calm and subtlety with his releases, and he has very well transmitted this energy into his undertakings with the label. Throughout 2025, Lenzman’s boutique label has spent refining a sound that is as much about the living room as it is the dancefloor. Their soul-music-first approach has featured artists like FD, Zero T, and Lenzman himself.

The label’s stature as a scene favorite was solidified this year through landmark releases like the ‘NQ State Of Mind, Vol. 4’ compilation, which seamlessly integrated the clinical precision of artists like Anile, Minor Forms, Tokyo Prose and Styke. Newcomers like Xeonz, Note, and Primitive Instinct came through with sounds that feel both fresh and inherently ‘North Quarter,’ proving that the label’s ethos is strong enough to guide diverse talents into a unified aesthetic.

What looks like another intriguing release schedule in 2026, and with a growing focus on hybrid live experiences, The North Quarter is well and truly geared up to kickstart the new year, which is rooted in musical nuance and emotional resonance.

STANDOUT RELEASE: FD – ‘From The Ashes’ EP

VISION Recordings

In case you are known to the now-separated Dutch trio Noisia and haven’t noticed until now, VISION Recordings is their name turned upside down. Despite the members of Noisia going their own way, they haven’t let the creative control over their imprint slip up one bit, and they’ve ensured that the label remains the laboratory it was for the ultimate boundary pushing of bass music as a whole.

2025 saw the label push drum & bass in patches but they did it with precision that left our mouths open. VISION brought Nik from Noisia together with Former to form ring noord, then another member from Noisia, Thys, teamed up with Holly, Machinedrum and Salvador Breed to form VIER and delivered drum & bass of the highest experimental order. We also saw some drum & bass from Mefjus with the remake of the iconic ‘Dead Limit,’ Japanese producer Azumai with the ‘Rude Boi’ EP and Emperor making an appearance on the label to close out an emphatic 2025 for VISION Recordings.

STANDOUT RELEASE: ring noord – ‘Wild Flowers’
