The festival bid farewell to its Edinburgh home of nearly a decade this year with plans for a new Scottish location.
Founded in 2017, Terminal V is Scotland’s biggest electronic music festival. It was held in Edinburgh for nine years until the festival announced it would be leaving the capital of Scotland. The 2026 edition of Terminal V was held at the Royal Highland Centre & Showground in Edinburgh with hard techno powerhouse Sara Landry, Klangkluenstler, French techno sensation I Hate Models, British electronic music maven Ben Hemsley, Munich-born techno titan Clara Cuvé, and English tech house giant Patrick Topping, among other thrilling acts.
“In recent years, the operational requirements associated with delivering Terminal V at the Royal Highland Centre and in Edinburgh have increased, with policing and associated deployment now representing a significant element of overall delivery costs at the venue,” Terminal V wrote in a statement shared on Instagram.
“Nine years ago we had a vision for what Terminal V could be, and Edinburgh gave us the platform to realise it. Closing this chapter is bittersweet, but watching so many people share this weekend with us made it feel like the celebration it deserved to be,” the festival’s co-founder Derek Martin shared in a press statement as per Rolling Stone Australia. “This might be the end of one era but we are excited about what is coming next. 2027 will also mark our 10th anniversary as well as a new exciting chapter for Terminal V.”
“While this edition marks the end of Terminal V’s time in Edinburgh, the festival’s evolution continues at pace,” the statement continued. Terminal V will also be returning to Croatia for its third edition at The Garden Resort Tisno from July 16 to 20, 2026, with Mall Grab, 999999999, Ben Klock, Hannah Laing, Patrick Mason, Ellen Allien, and more.
“Plans are already in place for a new Scottish location in 2027, alongside a global programme of events, including the imminent launch of Terminal V Australia, marking a significant new chapter in the brand’s international expansion,” the statement read. Although dates, location, venue and more details are yet to be announced, it is certain that the Terminal V 10th anniversary bash is going to be one for the books.
Terminal V has been a host to thousands of techno and house music enthusiasts gathering in Edinburgh to celebrate a stacked line-up of hundreds of artists. This year, the festival was held from April 18 to 19, 2026, with major electronic music producers/DJs performing across six stages set up in indoor and outdoor spaces.
