From its history to its comeback, this documentary aids viewers in understanding the growth of hard house, featuring interviews with some of the genre’s virtuosos. The ten-minute documentary, ‘The Comeback of Hard House,’ takes a look at the origins of the genre in the Netherlands. Club Caviar, B.O.B. Ltd, Klubbheads, Maruwa, Bengal and more make an appearance for interviews.
Clips of NERVO, Peggy Gou, Dom Dolla, and Denis Sulta also make a cameo in the mini-documentary, highlighting the acts that have helped in spotlighting the genre to a larger audience in the last few years. Interviews reveal the role that social media has played a huge role in understanding how their music is perceived by producers and artists.
Armada Music’s ‘The Comeback of Hard House’ explores how hard house was able to rise again because of the COVID-19 pandemic and how the genre kept growing from there. Club Caviar/Mass Medium reveal how they realized the genre was making a comeback again via an Arma Music Instagram post of DJs playing ‘Hammer House – The Jumper (Mass Medium) Remix.’ “I almost forgot about that track. It was like “Are they still playing that now?” And yeah, that really triggered something,” he said.
“As far as the genre can evolve, it will stay relevant. I also think that rave culture will never die and hard house is a part of rave culture. It has this classic rave energy, that’s why I would say it always will stay relevant,” states DJ/producer Maruwa.
